  1. The Holy Grail......

Can't believe I actually chugged this piece aside and somehow got forgotten (and it wasnt long ago either!!). I rediscovered this piece again underneath a bunch of trash on my desk. Can u believe it? I can't. :bangin: Well, here is a showcase of my beloved 5218-201A. Such a sweet watch. I'm gonna show this PAM some wrist time.

P/s I reckon this PAM needs some mod. I was hoping Davidsen could reproduce this dial with a darker, bolder font on the same 'sausage' dial, followed by a palpatine crown, and strap on a big fat chunky distress strap with a madasboot engraved GPF buckle. That would set this 5218-201A straight to perfection.

  2. I hate explainning myself to these questions. I bought the gens which I have reps of because of the connection I have for the watch and the brand. Some people think it is not justifyable (costs of the gen watch way cheaper and we are getting ripped off buying gen - should stick to reps, etc). All I do is to go with how I feel. At the end of the day, as long as I feel happy and satisfied, that is all that matters. The rest, whichever reasons it may be, are just [censored], nothing more.

I dont owe anyone any explanation as to why I chose to do what I did. (Not directing at you dabom or anyone)

And it is too complex to explain it all into words. Heck, I have issues justifying to myself and have long given up. So dont even think for a second there that I will waste anymore of my brain cells justifying them into words here.

ps/ what I have discovered in buying reps is that I am much happier owning a few quality reps than a bunch of reps which I can show off to but hardly have the time to wear them. I dunno how this sentence come about or how it relates to the topic but what the heck. I simply just want to point that out, that's all.

  3. V, that is a lot coming from you, as well as david. Both of you inspired me to get deeper into the strap collecting hobby, especially with all the threads on various straps types. I remember I wasnt too big on them but when I started getting into them, I cant seem to stop. Man, this is just getting worse, isn't it? ^_^

  4. I love the croc as well. I saw a cream coloured alligator strap on the europe strapmasters and it looks fantastic. But the price is too steep for me to consider getting them. In Singapore, I visited Visiotime and saw their new line of Alligators. I spotted this awesome dark brown large-grained alligator strap and was totally in love with it. The length was 115/75 and that kinda put me off. I could fit in no problem but I prefer longer straps. The price was cheaper tho, much cheaper than those on the web. I should have gotten it, totally regretted not purchasing it. It is one of the best large-grain alligator strap I have seen. The types you see on strapmasters europe and everywhere else cannot be compared to the one Visiotime had. :wounded1::wounded1: I tried emailing them and received no reply - must be sold, they only had one. !@#$%^&*

  5. It is damn pricey. It took me a long while to consider whether or not to purchase it. Some good deals can be sourced at P.com As a matter of fact, the soon-to-be-opened Strapmasters-UK is posting some promotion sales on there. Very tempted. Still ex but at least cheaper than normal retail.

  6. Finally got the chance to take a breather after a few weeks of mugging (& stressing) on my exam.

I am done with it (for the moment) and got down to taking some pics of my straps and stuff.

  7. Anyone got this? I have always loved the 186. Not sure if I am going to get this. I tried on a gen before and it sits very high on the wrist because of the domed shaped caseback, more domed than the rep 092 for sure. It sure looks damn effin good though.

  9. An excellent read. Thanks for posting. I felt that his post is sincere and honest. It is so true, at the end of the day, it is merely a watch. A brillaint post. I enjoyed it.

Sorry why was this thread moved to Off Topic? Isnt this a general discussion about watches?

I thought off topic was mean to be topics that arent watch related.
