  1. Excellent thread!

Well, My top three are as follows (in no particular order):

    Breitling Seawolf Stainless Steel

Just received this gorgeous watch from Josh a few days ago. As expected, the moment I laid my eyes on the watch, I absolutely fell in love with it. The dial, the second hand, the polished casing & links, the AR coating and most of all the weight. It could not be any better. This is a very handsome watch imo. Sits so well on my wrist. The gen comes in Ti, but I dont give a damn really. I think it looks 100x better in SS. Ti just does not do it for me. Hand an Avenger Chrono Ti, sold it away. No regrets. One complain though on this Seawolf, the bezel is loose, rattling loose. I am going to have it fixed anyways. So no problemo. If there is a white dial for this, I would buy it in a heart beat!

This will be my daily beater. I am still catching myself staring at it; forgetting that this thing actually tells time.

When I first got it, I was floored by this watch. What a beauty I told myself then. After a while I got sick of it and decided to sell it off. Well, no one made me a good offer so I decided to keep this watch. For some reason, at times, I can be so in love with this piece, and other times, I just get so sick of it and I just simply chuck it aside. Now, this watch is my favourite gym companion. This is my gym watch. I wear it to lift weights, and my 10K runs. And so far this watch has never failed me. Very effing reliable ... and I am impressed. I wear this watch to sleep, trashed it around, knocked the crystal a few times and still bloody intact. I strapped on a Molina Nylon Strap (very much like the Hirsch strap) for my workouts. And it seems I don't even wear this watch out now other than to the gym. The only watch I can see replacing this 212 is a heart rate monitor.... when I finally decide to get myself one. But that is hardly a watch!!

Probably wear the heart rate monitor on the other wrist...

Been craving for this watch for a while now. What made me decide to seek for this watch so desperately? Well, I tried on a genuine AP ROO Chrono at one of the AD in Singapore Changi Airport and I was hooked. I do not want to take it off! Man, AP is addictive. I swear if I have the money there and then, I would have taken off with that watch! I am not a compulsive buyer but that day, I was soooo tempted. And I could not stop thinking about it. So what is the next best thing in the rep world? AP RO Jumbo.

I needed a dress watch anyways besides my Daytona. So I desperately went on a hunt for it. After a few PMs, flavor flav unwilling let go of his prized AP to the next lucky owner - Me! Well, I paid a high price for it and the deal included sending flavor flav a few cans of 'V' drink available here in Australia. Got it on monday. And it looks awesome!!!

Well, there you go... my top 3 watches at the moment.

  2. I don't really care about the 'tachymetre' or 'tachymeter'. The 7750 date window is soo wrong that it will be picked out first rather than the spelling error. I reckon the best one yet is the 7753 (even though the date font is incorrect). PAM 251 is a very very nice piece. Even better than the 188. This is one watch I wish to get as a genuine. It is such a beauty.

  3. I just got my SS Seawolf. All I can say is OMG. Awesome watch. Yes, the gen comes in Ti, but I wanted a SS anyways. And it looks awesome on SS. I used to have a Ti Chrono Avenger. The Avenger did not 'wow' me but this SS Seawolf totally took me by surprise. One bad thing tho, the bezel is effing looose.

  4. @quarks,

i don't care what all those jerkoff paneristi say or insinuate about you, you're A OK in my book!

i don't know if you'd be willing to uncase it, but if you could, slap that sucker on a scanner and we're in business. anyways, things are at least moving in the right direction.

oh and i'm in, in case it was not clear.

    Thanks ehtolcad. Much appreciated. :)

Unfortunately, I do not have a scanner but I'll do my best and get those pics to u guys.

  5. Hi Quarks,

A high res scan of the dial of a gen TT santos would be perfect (instead of a picture)! No problem if the picture is more than 4 MB. Then I don't need to reshape and reposition the elements, so the rep dial will even be more accurate than I said before.

However, it will take some time (much manual work) to vectorize all the elements. If everybody agrees upon the final result somebody can get it printed on the right material. We should not cut down expenses on printing the dial at a professional shop.

Oh yeah, before I forget, Quarks can you send me the exact (very very exact I mean, more exact than a mm if possible) dimensions of the dial if you finished scanning the dial?

If everybody cooperates we can get the perfect dial! Maybe someone else can search for the right copyshop and print the dials and ship them to people who are interested?

none, I will try my very best to take some good shots of the dial. No promises tho. I am not photographer but my bro will probably help me out in this aspect. I will take quite a few and then you choose the best. I'll get down to it tonite. Just got back home, need a breather. Been a long day. I'll take the measurements out as well. Please PM me your email so I can send the pics directly to you. :victory:

  6. Who exactly knows what is going on in the factory? Possibly some dealers here and the actual pple who work in them. I'm pretty sure things work differently in rep biz compared to gen biz so I would say it is not appropriate in this case to compare these two extreme cases. Of course, we all want the most exact rep but just take a look and see how far we have come. Yes, new versions are always coming out every few months or so, I guess that is how they work in the rep biz. I could only imagine how a dealer might feel when they take into considerations about the flaws and get the factory to rectify them and to produce a final version and then.... to the dealer's dismay, it is still not good enough for us. Why? because it is a damn rep, that's why. At the end of the day, a rep is still a rep. It is never good enough for us. The closer we get to the gen, the more we scrutinise for flaws. Let me tell ya, it never ends.

    :bleh:

  7. You know what I am contemplating the same thing (inspired by what you have done of course)

Get a gen. 112 and get it DLC/PVD by Jack. But I will getting the original casing in for the job. Personally, I don't see the point including gen. dial and movement in a aftermarket casing, crowns, CG imo. Still thinking about it though. It is a tough decision when you are dealing with gens. And the waiting period while the job is being done is also the hardest. As for the warranty..... :wounded1:

Either I go with this project or just leave it as it is....

I saw a good deal on 112.... if I dont pull the trigger now someone else would.

But I think someone already has. -_-

  8. Allow me to join in: :)
