  1. I seldom see a BNIB 219 go less than USD$4000 in P forums and I reckon it would def. be much higher in ADs.

Can never go wrong with 112 if you are in for a base model and looking for a reasonably priced pam. Unless you are crazy for a destro, my advice - 112. A good alternative. I never stop thinking about 112 ever since I laid my hands on it. It is simply gorgeous, more so than a 111 IMO.

As for destros, I feel that they tend to sit funny on my wrist due to the CG.

  2. @ V: LOL. Personally, I am one of the diehard fans of the rubber. First because it is comfy, second, it looks pretty good on the 187. I have Dirk (the real deal) salt-water proof 26/26 Black w/ white stitching and I love that strap but for some reason, I always go back to the rubber strap. I am still in search for a perfect strap for the 187..... I gather after so long, finally, your strap with the blue stitching might be put to good use. :)

  3. V, the strap that comes with 187 is 26/22. I don't know if genuine one is the same, maybe Quarks could tell us something?

    Cheers!

Sorry for getting here late. The gen. strap is the exact dimension as Ken's 187 strap. That is 26/22. And the gen. buckle is brushed.

  4. sorry about the photo...gotta work on my photo skills...mucho mods on the PAM 24...swiss valjoux, tapering of bracelet links & brushing, lello crown, sapphire crys with A/R and better reverse cyclop (perfect mag), j-fu crown guard, etc

Awesome indeed. You got me fooled. Very impressive! :thumbsupsmileyanim:

  5. It sounds to me like the guy was trying to be friendly but just had a warped idea of how to go about it. It doesn't surprise me, having met a lot of people with better intentions than social skills. This Chris sounds like one of those insecure guys who has to gab with someone every second he has and tell them how great he is, and implodes when left with only himself for company. Annoying.

As a non-Type A, one reason I like living in Japan is that pretty much everyone understands that it does very little good and usually some harm to walk up to strangers and point out things that are none of their business in clumsy attempts to be "friendly" or show how astute they are. What it shows in Japan is that you have no concept of proper public conduct, which negates any positive impression you might make by being friendly or even astute.

While people are jumping on what a moron this Chris guy is, I have read several posts by members bragging about how they picked out some rep wearer and showed him up. So it's not just an uninformed person's problem.

Rule of thumb on commenting on other people's fashion, stuff, girlfriend, job, whatever, and not just reps: If strangers, don't. You're being either a jerk or a bully, there's not that much more to it. Exception if said stranger approaches you and raises the issue himself in an obnoxious way, but that's about it.

    Right on.
