  1. I am no expet,.. but i would be careful with your credit card company as the watch is a "counterfiet" and you have recieved it once as the EMS maifest will show.. if you have to show what the item is be very careful in how you descibe it.. the last thing you want is to be "red falgged" by customs, as I am not familiar with your customs laws ... in the USA you can be "red flagged" for certain items that have been confinscated once..

    better safe than sorry

Thanks guys, it had a big mark on the side (left side of the watch) looked like something had banged against it...

Ive emailed the dealer my concerns.. will let you know the outcome guys

  2. Sorry to hear of your troubles, Dastrix.

This should've been hammered out before you sent the watch. If you did, and s/he didn't mention a shipping fee, then you are correct. If not, then really, you don't have much of a case, as I see it.

I've never been asked for shipping back fee. In fact, whenever I have to send back any watch, I get compensated with a discount on my next order, or similar.

Basically, the dealer is holding your watch ransom, and it's up to you whether or not you should reveal his or her name. I personally wouldn't UNTIL everything was resolved on your end.

Good luck to you, Dastrix. :)

Thanks vbarrett, the dealer did NOT mention any shipping costs in sending it back... I've asked the dealer to absorb this in good business practice, if they refuse then I will look at making an unauthorised credit card transaction in my card to reverse the funds as the goods are still in the dealers hands. I'll do this under no goods received from vendor but I'm still then out of pocket!

  3. Hi Guys

I sent my damaged Tag back to the dealer at my cost who apparently has repaired it. The dealer is ready to ship it back to me but is now demanding the 20 USD to send it back. Is the process not that dealer pays to send to you, and buyer pays to send to dealer?

The website states no clauses for shipping/returns

I thought this is very bad business.

    Happy to name the dealer

    Thanks guys

  4. I think you're right. The 12 o'clock marker doesn't seem to align properly when lined up with the bezel ring's divet. Give it one click clockwise and it is almost aligned but not quite, give it another click and it is too far off. I wonder if it can be fixed somehow by removing the bezel and reseating or slightly moving the bezel ring?

Anyway, I'm glad that's what it is instead of the dial being misaligned.

Guys, any issues wearing this in the Ocean (salt water) ? I guess a rinse in freshwater afterwards would be ok.

  5. I am going to search for some 7750 geniune date wheel if it all goes well, I will get some more for you guys,

my only concern is the date box in the rep dail is actually a bit smaller then the geniune watch.

Just afraid the date font will be really big and hopefully it will stay with in the size of the date box

Guys, so a ETA 7750 movement swap into the SMP Chrono requires new hands??? Is this 100% confirmed?? I think ill order some hands now..

  6. Euno, I am sitting here with tears streaming down my face. My hearfelt condolances to you and your family. Reading your post made me think about how much I still miss my dad. I lost my father 7 years ago. He was only 47 years old at the time. I was 25 and this was a big blow for me. I had just picked him up at our family cottage because he was not feeling very well and I was proud to tell him that I had gotten engaged the day before. Offered to take him to the doctor, but he told me "it wasn't that bad". 2 hours after I dropped him off at home he was found dead outside, after a massive heart attack. Anyway, the point here was that what got me though all of it was talking to my family and friends about all the good stories about my father and also how much I loved him and missed him. So I think I understand where you are coming from when you are posting this here. And your father...well...I'll bet you he's sharing ice cream with his friends right now.

A gripping story, your father is in a better place no doubt! RIP, Dad's are the best guys in the world. I'm incredibily lucky to have my Dad still around, and hopefully for many years.

My heart goes out to you.

    Take care

    Kris

  7. They do, but The Zigmeister isn't putting them into the HBBs anymore as he had to use up his only spare "old" Asian 7750 movements to get them working for kruzer and one other. Perhaps you'd need multiple 7750s (ETA or Asian) to get it working which will work out too expensive.

ajoesmith, put me down for TWO of these movements. I'll drop out of the date wheel group buy and put the $ towards two movements (which have the date wheels anyway)

How quickly will this group buy happen?

    Thanks

    Kris

  8. with all the $ you are thinking about spending on this rep you might as well just buy the real thing. i just sold mine for $1200 a couple months ago and they are on ebay all the time for around $1200-$1500.

Have decided to change only the date wheel and install ETA movement. Leaving the rest. Carreras are still goin for $2k USD on Ebay... thats quite alot of aussie money

  9. Great comparison.

Was rep out of the box or did you do mods? Reason is that the bezel on your rep is alligned correctly where most are not.

Second, did you have it "waterproofed" or was it good out of box standard?

Finally, was it Josh or Andrew? Who was dealer?

    Thanks!

Sorry to bring this old thread back! Does anyone know if the gen bracelet fits without modification? The bezel is really expensive, so it also includes the dial? Is that correct?

    Thats the Bezel http://www.ofrei.com/page663.html#392

  10. There's no right or wrong when it comes to personal preference. Some people leave the chrono running permanently, others have it parked. Depends on what you like.

Thanks. The power must be good on these to have the chrono running constantly, I wore the watch in the morning and evening for about 2hrs, minimal movement then left it over night with it running and it was fine!

I'm testing its accuracy now against a time source on the internet. I think its about 1-2minutes out after 3 days. I'll definately get it serviced by The Zigmeister when he returns.

  11. No, the small second hand on the subdial has nothing to do with the chrono. The chrono running means when you start the stopwatch (i.e. large second hand in the centre of the dial.

No, the watch doesn't lose time from starting and stopping the chronograph.

If the second hand isn't moving, then the watch isn't keeping time, unless your confusing the second hand with the chrono second hand.

Thanks giorgio. I think I have it :) I've had the chrono running for 3 days hehehe! Woops!!! anyway, I've reset it and its stopped. The SUB dial at 9'o clock is still running and keeping time :)

So the largest hand in the center dial is the chrono hand, and should only be used when your using the stop watch feature! GOT IT :)

    Thanks so much

  12. The Zigmeister says that when the chrono is running thats when the most friction is generated. My Chrono seems to work fine, it starts and runs with the pushers.

My question is, under normal operation the seconds hand is constantly moving (naturally) is this then defined as the chrono running??? If you stop the chrono, reset and run it , has it lost seconds or is the watch still keeping time from before???

I assume if the seconds hand isnt moving the watch isnt moving and therefore not keeping time..?

    Sorry for this newbie question..

  13. Hey Guys,

Has anybody of you bought the SMP Chrono from PT recently?

    Rewiew...

    Cheers

Guys, am i right in saying a gen 7750 movement as for offer in the groupbuy would be able to be put into the SMP Chrono with easy by The Zigmeister?? Further, are there any issues with misaligned date wheels?

    Thanks

    Kris

  14. I received my 7750 from the first group buy yesterday and it now lives inside my IWC3717. A very beautiful and very genuine Valjoux7750 with very smooth and quick delivery and great service and honesty from ajoesmith.

They are becoming expensive now and an oppurtunity will not arise often for EU buyers to get one a this price. Thanks!

ajoesmith, am I right in saying that I can install one in a Tag Carrera Chrono & a Omega SMP Chrono through The Zigmeister later down the line??

If SO, ill take ONE postage to Sydney. When are the funds required? are your prices AUD? Ie $300 aud?

    Thanks

  15. Excellent as usual. You set a high standards for reviews!

I agree that the Link is the dressier choice. The SMP is more a toolwatch.

I wonder, are the Link as thick as the SMP? The thickness of the SMP makes it a bit awkward to use with a long sleeve shirt. I try to use that as an excuse to buy the Link Chono as well! :)

Guys, the date window issue can that be fixed by replacement with a ETA date window as used in the Tag Carrera Chrono?

    Thanks
