Finally got my Sinn U2 today! At last - had almost given up hope just before Xmas! Watch is great and on my wrist as I type this.
-
I'm not worried but just showing these things all have different times to post and get sent.
Mine was dispatched by the seller within a day of me ordering it. By 2 days it had left the country. It's only just been sent out for delivery by the courier firm at this end today, which is 30 days after it left CN!
-
I'm in the UK and am also experiencing the incredible slowness of EMS this Xmas period. I placed an order in November that was dispatched in early December. It finally arrived in the UK just before New Year and will likely not get to me until next week! Over a month from pick up to delivery.
Bizarrely I've ordered PC bits and bobs from eBay in December from Hong Kong and mainland CN that arrived in less than 2 weeks and was also shipped via EMS.

Yep, that's a beauty... one for the list!

Just a quick update - Mark resolved my issue to my satisfaction, so a happy ending for me and kudos to him for facing his critics.

This is a very interesting development, I haven't been on here as much as I have in the past due to work commitments. I am not a personal friend of finepics but I will say this, I have dealt with Mark since (almost) the beginning when he started to offer relumes. He relumed 3 of my PAMs and turned them round in 10 days or less. He even refused to install a datewheel I had sourced from elsewhere as he believed it would not fit and function properly!
I am however, one of the members who ordered but never received a datewheel for a PAM 029. I am able to believe that he has overcommited himself to modding and repair work and was taking on work that required levels of skill beyond his abilities, I would like to think this was more to do with trying to help members and not wanting to say no rather than due to greed, but the jury is out on that one. The worst thing abut this sorry state of affairs was by far the non-return of other members watches and the complete communication silence. The part I find hardest to forgive is the misleading information about illness, etc while still eBay trading and continuing to participate in other boards...
What has this done to me personally? Well, since this is my only (tiny) financial loss after 4 years of rep trading here, on eBay and elsewhere (often dealing with unproven characters) I count myself lucky, but I will be a bit more careful when dealing with other members in future and will be reluctant to buy modding parts.

sorry but he has 10 ratings from 2007. the rest was given in 2006 and 2005.
look at the particular rating dates.
Maybe you need to check feedback as a buyer and feedback as a seller...

An update on my order - my PVD crown (ordered last Sept) arrived today! All is well with the world Hooray!

Well, I have been waiting about 5 months
Me too. PMed Palp many times with no reply. Tried to PM 'Pam' but no answer either
Love the avatar of the Moonster BTW dluddy!

ps. is it really homeland security and not "Customs and Excise" that are catching them?
Or maybe they just brought everyone in US Customs and border patrol under the "Homeland security" umbrella for political point scoring reasons?

I can confirm that ETA date and day wheels fit the asia7750. I received my watch today and stripped it down and fitted the new wheels inside. Ignore the chrono hands. I have got them out of alignment but wanted to post a pic of the improved date font.
Looks great! Glad you eventually got your watch Like hilts I am also looking for someone who can fit my ETA datewheel for me.

WHat do you need my friend? I may be able to do MINOR repairs/mods that I have done trillion times in my watches and feel comfortable of doing for others..
BTW I do not want to take Finepics side because I think his turnaround time for the DWs is reaching Ridicilous timeframes BUT at the moment he is not playing sick to avoid you.. I talked with him on the phone couple of weeks ago and he couldn't even speak...
I just wanted to clarify that he is INDEED sick and that's the reason he is lost. Nothing more nothing less.
Thanks V! PM Sent.

I can't speak for finepics current illness, but in his defence in the past he has provided me with excellent service reluming and modding a number of my favourite reps, typically with a 1-2 week turnaround. Which brings me to a problem... I now have a few minor things I would like to get done to a couple of reps, but don't know where to send them. I am also UK based and would like to avoid leaving the EU customs area...
This conundrum got me thinking - maybe we need a modding/repair services section of the member trade area, where skilled members can advertise their services to less able members like me! When they are too busy with other things to accept new work, they could pull their ads?

I have sent an email to Eddie but what a suprise!! no response. The sender has to make the claim by proving the cost which is easy and showing proof of receipt which too should be easy. The possible bonus is that it past customs with no problem in 3 minutes so IWC may not be a problem to claim for. Very few have heard of them!
Let us know what happens with Eddie, could be useful for all of us in future.

Well Parcelforce UK officially declared my Pilot watch lost! today. I guess I will not be a lucky wearer of this lovley timepeice
Useless *********!!!!!!
Will you at least be able to claim back the value by showing them some form of receipt?
-
Thanks in advance for making this possible!
I don't think anyone actually said they are going make a datewheel...?
-
I would be happy with just a rep of the strap!
-
A datewheel fix is an excellent idea. I would pay top dollar for this mod. This rep is FANTASTIC. It deserves to be 100% perfect.
What he said!
-
I don't think I'm destined to get this watch. The second one Eddie sent vanished after passing through customs last Thursday teatime and has not been seen since. Problem is that Parcelforce Internaional now want to know what is in the package so they can find it!!!!!! I'm [censored] off with this whole transaction and industry and this may be my last rep purchase, certainly the last via a dropshipping method.
That is a very bad luck. You will need to check with Eddie what was marked on the customs slip - if it was anything watch related you might be OK telling them it was a watch.
I would get any other reps sent to another address, having 2 heading to the same place and both getting lost sounds like more than a coincidence. You either have a crooked postie or are on some kind of customs list.

There are both, white and black datewheel versions, but steel case black ceramic bezel is only coming with the CF dial, the other one (which has the same dial as the steel bezel version) is fantasy...
LOL! 600$ for a replica...wake up, wake up....
$600... must be an April fool!

Pug is right, Acton and orangehomedsl.co.uk in the hostname make me think this is coming from the UK:
customer11578.pool1.Acton-GLN1070-BAS0001.orangehomedsl.co.uk
Acton is a suburb of North London, and Orange is a UK mobile phone operator who also offer ADSL service.

Eddie has sent me tracking tonight and for some reason has posted out another watch today hence the unusual delay I guess. I wonder where the first one is???
If you didn't get a tracking number at all maybe the watch was seized at the post office or before it left the country of origin?

I'm growing weary and wary with all the problems associated with buying reps lately: how to make payments, customs crackdowns, inexplicably obvious flaws, misrepresentations, quality control, and the general anxiety about buying illegal goods. So, I just pulled the trigger on a BNIB Gen Planet Ocean, Ref. 2900.50.91. Paid an outstanding price=$1900.00USD, delivered. Arrives by Friday.
Yeah, yeah, I know this is a Rep world, and I could have gotten seven "ultimate reps", but did I do good? Anyone understand and share my frustrations with reps?
You got a good deal, on a great watch! Enjoy it (and don't forget to tell us where you got it )
anyone fro m the EU who has experience with FedEx or DHL?

In my early days of rep collecting I had a few watches shipped by FedEx and DHL and they always end up getting VAT charges at customs. I think this is part of their business model actually, as the 'handling fee' is a fixed amount, say
