  1. My advice- Scrub the whole thing and switch to Windows 7... Vista is horrible bloatware... If you don't wanna pay for it, try downloading Win7 Ultimate 32 bit or 64 bit and Windows7Loader to bypass Windows Genuine Advantage.
  2. Amazing watch...I can't say enough good things about it. If you could find a Cal 2500 cheap on the bay (good luck) you'd have a legitimate super rep
  3. At one point I had 50+ reps...now I've got 20 + gens and zero reps
  4. +1... email a collector and see if they can get their hands on it...
  5. Fake case and dial gen movement though...
  6. Hmm...I'm thinking you'd need to paint over it?
  7. Agreed with TT...great collection and very well shot!
  8. I love the drilled lugs on my vintage rollies... makes strap fitting so much faster and easier- just use a push pin and bam: you're done... no scratches to the underside of the lugs, etc.
  9. The SMP does look great in the snow
  10. Having owned a number of these I'd wholeheartedly recommend the Omega Railmaster automatic!!
  11. Nice- that crown needed to go!!
  12. It should be starting here in Sudbury, MA any minute now...
  13. Same to you Klink- hope you're feeling well!
  14. To all who have donated: thanks for the support!!
  15. Standard RailMaster is one of the most beautiful watches...I went right to the gen- excellent!
  16. IMHO- wait for a 1002 Airking, a handwind Oyster Perpetual, or a 1002 Oyster Perpetual No-Date to come around for between 900-1000 USD. Much better value imho- I'd stay away from that thing.
  17. I'm getting a bit closer... here are movement diagrams: http://www.horomundi...read.php?t=4725 AH HA! FOUND IT: http://www.timezone..../horologium0033 Bam! "Following the service, regulation with the Triovis (Triovis! That's the word!! -S) adjuster and movable stud carrier was carried out. As show at left, gross adjustments of rate are made by moving the regulator itself (red arrows). Very fine rate adjustments are made by turning the Triovis screw (at the orange arrow), which moves the regulator in very fine increments. Beat is adjusted by moving the stud carrier (blue arrows), which shifts the outer attachment of the spring. Following service, regulation of rate and beat produced the following figures." So I know you don't wanna mess with the beat... you'll probably just need the Triovis... See the picture midway down!
  18. Damn...I just Googled the hell out of it...I forget the name of that type of screw... Trivolis screw or something like that? I think it's left to speed up and right to slow down but I'd wait for an expert on this... and you turn the black screw that's in perpendicular to the [censored] if I recall...
  19. If you really want to go that route (you'll pay more in the long run) I'd buy a 1500 Oyster Perpetual. Same money as that movement you're looking at and you could just take the movement out of the gen watch. Now, if down the road you want to sell the parts, just put the movement back in the 1500 you brought and presto- you have a full gen watch to sell wherever and can sell the parts here.
