  1. No worries buddy, it as early morning and I picked up on this. I guess you were asking if it was an ETA or a clone. Anyway still show the topside, it can’t be a bad buy at car boot prices

Haha yes I often get things wrong in the mornings myself usually when something isn’t clear like my question!

£4 purchase she didn’t do bad.

  2. Ok so for those that have seen my 126600 sale post I obviously do not know a lot although it has been good to see even some of the more experienced members have been on the fence regarding it.

Anyway my daughter made me laugh coming home with a non working rep Rolex from a boot sale this morning however the movement is winding and working but obviously not running the watch for some reason.  My question to you guys again is the obvious, rep or gen please?

Thanks in advance for any replies

As above, but also remember modern depth ratings are not really relevant. Anything beyond 50 metres and you are into professional diving, with professional diving gear, not some lame ass rep or even a genuine Rolex these days. Nobody uses a dive watch instead of a modern dive computer, nobody times motorsport on a Daytona, and pilots don’t rely on pilot watches.

I have a watch rated for 2500 metres, which would only really be useful for working out how long I’ve been dead.

50 metres would do me fine I'm currently only allowed to 40 anyway.  Disagree that people do not still wear them for diving alongside a digital dive computer, myself being one only with an IWC if only because it can and should.

  4. Hi guys being quite new to the rep world and a huge scuba lover I am curious to know what depth we can have our reps waterproofed to?

Has anyone tested factory standard at depths?

I have heard 10ATM has been achieved, does anyone here do this?

Thanks in adv for any answers

  5. Hello all first post here I have read some great threads/answers, really interesting stuff I commend a lot of you on your help towards others and hopefully me to be one of them.

I own a gen Audermars Elephant as it's known but it scratches easy so wanted to take some wear time off of it so have put it away in the safe.

Now I miss it but do not want to continue scratching it in day to day wear so would like to buy the best rep available maybe even have it modded if there is any faults that can be changed, by some of the fantastic hands I have been reading about in the forums.

If anyone has any experience with this model please any advice or direction much appreciated.

Also if anyone knows if the gen straps will fit on the current jf version of the AP26470

    Thanks in adv.
