  2. Well........ pull up a bollard and I’ll tell ye a story.

Back in the days just before my time here at RWG, I hankered after a Seamaster Pro Chronograph. I looked and longed but didn’t want to drop £2750 on a new one. With it being my first luxury/expensive watch (over £500) I naturally wanted it new. My friend had a Seamaster Pro that got me into Omega along with James Bond.

I travelled a lot for business back then, often traveling to Switzerland for work and this made the desire even greater - bloody airport shops! My mind was set, I’d save a little each month and buy one later that year. Luckily, I was working in Guernsey too, which whilst part of the UK is also duty free. On one such visit a deal was struck for a VERY good price and I became the proud owner of a new Seamaster Pro Chronograph - in blue of course.

I wore it sparingly and with pride, but I felt guilty of the money I’d spent on it and nervous of damaging it. Then, within weeks I discovered RWG and high quality reps,  hallelujah, problem solved. I’ll sell the gen and buy one rep of my Seamaster Pro Chrono.........

Yeah right! I couldn’t bring myself to sell such a nice watch and investment (lol). Then, what if the reps were rubbish? I’d only have to buy another gen. Best pop the gen back on the winder and just use the rep, or another rep, or the black one, or the white one, or the franken built by Micky. Bugger, this has cost me more than the gen, but it’s been a whole lot more fun!

    This is the gen.

So in hindsight, would I buy the gen? No, probably not. But hey I’m gonna keep it now anyway for special occasions lol

Haha good read and a small Omega fetish going on here? Got to love duty free wouldn’t buy anywhere else new.

I would not buy a gen
    Pam
    Iwc
    Hublot
    Cartier
    AP
Some omegas ( speeds are the exceptions)

The reps may not be perfect but close enough.

The reason I didn’t include Rolex because the gen sport model can actually increase in value over time

  3.

Ok guys I am going to share an ongoing trade I have and would appreciate some advice and some insight from those that have had similar experiences.

On the 23/07/2018 I was PM’d by another member on RWI, he is also a member in here, although says he doesn’t have an account here and I won’t be mentioning any names, just yet. Anyway the member wishes to do a trade with an AP ROO Elephant fully modded and basically new that I had up for sale or trade on here and RWI. He offered up 2 Pateks, 1 aquanaut and 1 nautilus as well as another AP all standard reps. I agreed and we swapped

Mobile numbers to conclude the deal over WhatsApp where we swapped addresses and I asked him to comment on the thread he see the watch for sale in so there was a record of the trade.

Over the next few days we continued to chat about watches, wants etc whilst awaiting each other’s parcels.

26/07/2018 in the morning I checked the tracking of the parcel I had sent to him to see how it was doing and it was out for delivery that day so I messaged him to make sure he knew. I had given him a screenshot of the full tracking details on the 24th and box as well as attached his number to the parcel so he would receive a text message on the day of delivery, however I still felt it courteous to let him know.

Later that day in the 26th trader messages me to say he had received the parcel was extremely happy and he sent me a screen shot (pic attached) of some postage details with my postcode on, no tracking number just the trader stating his parcel should be with me Monday or Tuesday the next week.

Again we continued to exchange messages over the coming days and on the 30/07/2018 I enquiries as to how the parcel was doing as I didn’t have the tracking code to check myself. Trader replied he wasn’t currently at home and he would update me later on. Late that night I hadn’t heard from him so messaged again and received the same screenshot as above and trader stating it should be with me that week. I then asked for the tracking number myself to which he immediately sent one.

I then checked Royal Mail tracking, no trace, so I try postNL, no trace so I then tried a few different multi tracking sites all no trace. Immediately messaged trader who sent a screenshot back saying in transit (pic attached) however again there was no tracking code attached to this neither was my address and he stated that if it wasn’t with me by Friday that week he would call them.

31/07/2018. Check the tracking code again still no trace and by now I am feeling this isn’t quite right so messaged trader again and he said he would call them that day. Evening time comes and still not heard from the trader so messaged him again and he sends me a picture of a smashed up car stating he had been in a car accident and will call them tomorrow now.

01/08/2018 I messaged trader as I hadn’t heard back from him and apparently he had literally just got off the phone to them and they was going to call him back later.

02/08/2018 trader messaged me that postNL had called him and the parcel would leave the NL in 2 days and should be with me next week it only needs to go through customs then it will leave the NL.

03/08/2018 trader messaged me again to say that he received another call from postNL the parcel has been recalled by customs and is under investigation, asking me why to do. To which my reply was I have no clue I have never heard of this happening like this.

04/08/2018 trader says he spoke to his friend who advised him that is best to ignore all contact from postNL and 4/5 times they just send the parcel.

14/08/2018 I asked the trader for a copy of the receipt with the tracking number displayed to which he replied he no longer had it. Apparently he left it in the car he apparently smashed up and no longer had access to it.

From here I spoke with a couple of moderators who have since helped het a postNL investigation underway that was supposed to be finished yesterday but the trader said they need more time they haven’t finished yet.

I personally called postNL where the employee told me they have no trace of the tracking number and that once in the system it cannot be removed by anyone so in his opinion it was never in the system despite the trader sending me screenshots with my postcode but no tracking code attached.

I would appreciate anyone’s thoughts and especially similar experiences.

    Many thanks in advance

Pics removed temp as they displayed personal info of the trader.

  4. Have a look over the forum buddy and you will see@legend modded AP’s all over. He is undoubtedly your man for the job to which I can vouch.

I have had 2 works of art from him myself, one modded ceramic diver of which will probably never get sold and a rep of the grey themes to which I have the gen so wanted to compare the rep after his work and his work is amazing, truly. If it wasn’t for the thickness which wasn’t really noticeable on the wrist it would of been extremely hard to tell.

If your going to wear an AP rep please have it modded

  5. AP Diver.  Ceramic in my case and I do not even have the latest version, however it is highly modded and on the wrist it would take an amazing expert's eye to spot it wasn't a gen if even then it could be spotted.

Absolutely stunning watch I would of certainly considered a gen of in the future before finding RWG and obtaining a modded rep version.

Think that deserves a thank you RWG for both saving me a fortune but also keeping me happy at the same time.

  6. Oh Dear! I’m only a newbie, but I’m really sorry to hear your Breitling has stopped.
Very annoying,  l was going to buy from Puretime but not now, I know of a private individual well versed in watches, I’ve purchased from him with no problems whatsoever.

I thought the Sellers on this site were ‘Vetted’ by senior members!

Whatever the case, I would have thought ‘Puretime’ and other sellers tested and examined the watches they sell prior to passing it onto the buyer, although this maybe an isolated case It’s not good.

Personally, I’d ask for my money back as if it has already malfunctioned To me it’s an indication that there is a possibility of something else going wrong.

if I may ask which Breitling is it?
Did the seller tell you from where he bought it?
I’m sure ALL will work out for you, But still not nice. When I spend £600 ++ I expect NO problems however minor, Isn’t that the reason we buy from ‘TD’s’ ?

Buddy if you want to expect 0 problems your best bet is to buy a genuine and probably stick another 0 on the £600++

Maybe then you may get 0 problems however genuine watches do get problems also so I think your expectations are a little high for a rep.

    Good luck anyway

Mmmm thats nice! I have a Royal Oak 15400 rep wonder if the bracelet fits the AP ROO. But I really am upset as I loved the orange strap :( Ill have to buy another one.

No I don't think it does.  Take @Legend advice or get a gen one.  Makes all the difference on the wrist as well.

  8. Oh that’s painful but it could of been worse at least the watch itself is fine and didn’t drop to the floor and break or lose it swimming. Like you say the heat and humidity has been bad and could of done that to a gen one tbh.

I switched out to the bracelet in this heat, learnt my lesson lol
