  1. How did they move the chrono pushers over? Did they add on a couple levers like I read somewhere that they did on the Graham's to offset one of the pushers??

That's lucky. There was a post somewhere about the stem being relatively available because it's compatible with something more common...can't remember what the post was though...hopefully you can find it.

    Great news!!

  2. Wow...you went full hog. That's the first I've heard of the case shaping at the corners...interesting.

You're doing great...great in that you are having fun, and will have a product you will be proud of.

Good stuff!! We look forward to the final result.

  3. It went on for 47 hours and 36 minutes. So PR is good. I handwinded it fully again, atart to wear it. We'll see what happens. Thx for all your help!

Try not to handwind it if at all possible, as you will prematurely wear gears down that are hard to replace. Try and be more active to wind the watch...perhaps upgrading to Platinum and going to the GGG section might be enough to maintain your PR. ;)

  4. If it's running fine with PR for >30hrs...you're doing alright.

Try changing the position of the watch after you get it powered up again...if something goes funny with the PR in a different position indicating it only runs properly in one orientation, then something might be off on the movement.

  5. It's because this one has a reliable running secs at 6 movement Chief...you should know that by now. ;)

Never underestimate the amount people are willing to pay for exclusivity. Why is it worth >$300K?? Because more than a few people are willing to pay that.

The market price is driven by the existence of merely one buyer. If something sells at any price, that's what it's worth. If it doesn't sell at a given price, it's obviously not worth that.

It amazes me what sells at what prices in the real estate market too. Crazy.

I mean, look at this POS in Mumbai:

    the_most_expensive_home_in_the_world.jpg

    $2B???

    I mean really, I wouldn't pay more than $1.89B for that...some people.

  6. Hi Mariano and welcome to the forum. Start with the Noob Guide linked in my signature to start.

The question you ask is one of the most oft asked ones to new members on the forum. The problem is, that there are so many "ifs" and "buts" to qualify any answer, that there really is no "right" answer.

    • How much are you willing to spend?
    • Do you care if it comes from China for customs or do you need it posted from North America or the EU?
    • Which model? DSSD? SD? Milgauss? Daytona? Vintage?
    • Do you care which movement or do you want to stay away from certain ones?
    • All reps have issues, which ones will bug you the most? Datefont? Bracelet? Crown Guards?

There are lots of questions that need to be answered and the answers are all individual to the asker...

The budget DSSD and Milgauss options I think are some of the best values out there. They have an A21j movement...which may be an issue for you, but at <$150...are VERY accurate, and well built.

The new budget 1655 Steve McQueen is a smokin' deal for what was a very hard rep to obtain...great datewheel, case, dial, bracelet...but it's a modified GMT a21j movement...that may be an issue...maybe not.

The ETA options are better...but more money...is that an issue for you?

You get the idea...part of the fun in this hobby is the quest and the learning that goes with the journey.

Enjoy it, have fun, share your experiences with the rest of us.

  7. So at this point I was considering buying the 236 and asking josh for the deployant clasp from the 250. This way I get the bracelet, and I can buy a real croc strap from elsewhere, and use it with the deployant clasp.

This is the best route!! Have fun the purchase and keep us posted on the experience.

Definitely, get the bracelet with the watch...the strap will likely suck. he has some new PAM straps listed that might be better, but you would be best to get a strap from one of the people here. There are some good makers. The Watch Boys (listed in the links section) make good gen croc straps at very good prices. HKTan makes excellent custom straps but they may take awhile.

There are a few really good makers: Frogman, Wotancraft...all depends on what you like, how much money you want to spend, etc. Check the links section for some ideas...and check the forum main page for listings of dealers that do straps.

Welcome to the forum, and thanks for participating in it.

  8. I'm not sure I understand what the issue is...Are you thinking the lume is not evenly applied on the 6-o-clock marker? I think it might be reflection in the pic...look at the 9-o-clock on the same pic.

Any irregularities this small should not be an issue on the watch in person.

I have an earlier version of the Milgauss...and it's a beautiful watch (with the green crystal...but not the real green crystal)...you should be happy with yours...my lume really sucks...but not enough to bug me to replace the dial...yet...

BTW...welcome to the forum, and thanks for stepping up to VIP status.

  9. The WIS of this world, and those who make it their business to know the 'signs' of a well off person, may well spot it if they're eagle-eyed, but I wouldn't recommend wearing a rep in the situation where this may happen!

Or still...wear it...and if asked, be honest and say it's a rep...just like the ones used in Kill Bill...hop in your Ferrari, and drive off with a smile. :)
