  1. Much thanks for the update. Can't wait for the next version. And I may be missing something but your pic of rep and gen dial convinces me that the gen dial is semi-gloss and not matte. Of course you can never tell from pictures for sure but that is my bet.
  2. You guys have outdone yourself. Congrats on a beautiful project.
  3. Welcome to the Board. Enjoy the ride. And yes, we might have saved you a little heartache over that Daytona if you had found the Board sooner. But now you have.
  4. Nice to have you on board. There are many other gen collectors here as well.Welcome to the wonderful world of reps and frankens. Many folks who started on the gen side when they join quickly find themselves immersed in the fun of finding, sourcing and ultimately modding all of these non-gens.
  5. Absolutely stunning. Wear that one well. A lot of base love on my end. By the way, now that you are hooked on modded PAM's you are now off on a fun (and expensive) ride.
  6. Wishing you a speedy recovery and a thanks from the admin side for letting everyone know in real time.
  7. Great shots. I am loving that black dial too. Never seen it before. Wear those well.
  8. I am guessing Ebay. There were 3 or 4 for sale a few months ago. The black ones occasionally come up. I have never seen a white dial offered though.
  9. Congrats on the VCO Franken. It came out beautifully. Wear that one well. Come by occasionally and you may even see a couple more in the next few weeks with a couple of tweaks including VC's date font. A couple of us have been sitting on these dials for some time and yours is just the inspiration to get us up off our butts and do this.
  10. Very nice watch. Well done. Wear it well.
  11. Actually Hublot has done an excellent job marketing. And it is only going to get better now that LVMH or Richemont bought them (I can't remember who - but I can remember that the owners (at least one of which occasionally stops by here) pocketed $175 million or so - a genius move considering sales have got to be down 20-30% like everyone else. And both B and R and Hublot are moving very quickly to add the various materials and higher end complications. Just everyone trying to move up the food chain.
  12. I forgot to add - I trust you don't have the same sexual preferences as Prince. You know you were asking for it with that sub-title. And as for the new name - that was his better half's choice. And the better half usually wins.
  13. Could be the first noob with 3000 posts. If you need any tips on modding Watchdog feel free to PM me. I can steer you in the right direction.
  14. It probably makes more sense to just sell what you have and buy a new one. You will most likely have to mill the inside of the case to take a different movement ring and to ensure that the stem coming off the movement lines up with the crown hole on the case. In other words, you will likely need a new movement ring or at a minimum need to remill the interior of the case.
  15. The stealth trend continues. That looks great. AP should take a cue from you and make this.
  16. Monday-Tuesday a little FM love (literally - it is small ): Wed back to the norm for lunch with a good friend on the forum visiting from the EU:
  17. Congrats on a beautiful watch. I am jealous too. Strap looks really good. I actually took the 233 tunnel strap and threw it on my 03.
  18. Yeah, it's a great movement and can slide into any watch that takes a 7750. IWC does a beautiful job of reworking the base movement.
  19. Unless you have transposed some of the numbers the7922 caliber movement is a stock 7750 layout with seconds at 9. And so is the 3707 GST.
  20. Pardon my ignorance, but as long as someone has posted this... Is the particular forum listed above one of the better forums for accessing Rolex parts? What are the others? Is there a particularly good one focused on vintage Rolex and parts?
  21. That is what I thought but if you have ever seen or tried to reproduce the radial brushing on a gen datewheel .... it's impossible!
  22. A second welcome. Take a look around and enjoy the ride.
  23. Not when the owner is a member of those forums.
