  1. I gotta go downtown to sign some papers, so keeping it stealth is the objective.

Nothing fancy as your thousand dollars watches, this one was about a 100 to make: ETA movement watch head and band bought separately from the bay and put together in joint venture while having a beer.

  2. Anything that may bring the business down in China for our dealers will a definite NO from them... imagine the margins they make with our purchases, we KNOW that the fabrication process isn't even near of what we pay for these watches...

That's a great idea, but I don't think we'll get an afirmative answer... are we as a board in a position that will let us demand warranty?

a poll would say 100% yes from members but a probably 100% not from dealers...

a dealer's point of view would be very constructive here.

  3. It was all honey for me until customs started pissing in my soup... after I lost 6 to 8 watches in the mail and customs (many were stolen from the mail while sent back to sender, other were returned and I never knew back of the watches) I realised I just couldn't afford to buy the most expensive reps to see them dissapear. That's why I've been mostly buying asian reps from dealers and 2nd hand watches.

Lately it's been almost all loss for me. I'm already known in customs but they tell me that there may be a way for me to have them released when caught, so I'll try this "new- illegal/ legal" method when I have all figured out with those suckers at customs. Can't hate'em they're just doing a good job.

So I've been satisfying my watch cravings with low price- medium end originals such as Tissots. Ebay will provide my next watches probably.

    I'm one big unlucky bastard.

    best regards.

  4. my quartz one was given away as a present years ago, I remember I bought it on 2001 and I gave it out on 2002. I think I have some horrible pics in my old computer, stored... I'll blow the dust out of it and search for the pics, taken with a digicam with no macro... what gives...

Will post them as soon as I retrieve them. I'm getting the auto one on mid August.

    salud!

  5. TTK's been banned, his strong-est personality and preservation instinct drove him to do/say/think/act abnormally, he had some issues regarding pending orders and gained some enemies in both ol' dead TRC and here. Personally I still think he's a good guy in a bad line of work... if you're a dealer you just can't rant over your paying costumers or your fellow members... not to speak getting into discussion with the admin team.

He should be in another board, but you can still get the same watches maybe with Narikaa... other mariners may be found with the dealers in the dealers section, browse around and start hunting your prize.

    cheers!

  6. That's the bike and the wig, what a laugh!!

...never thought if that was really him, but in some way, I did believe that. We know lots about other members, but we know so little faces.

At least me, living so far south, in Polex Gelena, Shitinerand... where even ss watches have 750 stamped in their casebacks...

  7. I don't remember Eddielee as a dealer, as I never bought a watch from him, which I still regret... I do remember him as a member in the begining of the board, when he signed up as a member and inmediately became part of the soul of the board there, with his constant jokes, hilarious posts, elvis wig, his "portable" chopper bike and how to forget the giiiiiiiirls... I also remember when he became a dealer and started getting the best pieces. I was studying back then and just couldn't afford some eta based watches he offered, I had to go for the cheapest possibility around.

and I think he was into medical supplies and not a coroner. But I may be wrong.

man, if you're around with another name, then let me know!

if you're lurking around, a pm saying Hi will make my week.

    cheers!

  8. I've had more than 20 asian watches, every of them bought from new. I've had absolutely NO problems with them, mechanicaly speaking. I've had, instead, around 15 eta watches or "asian eta" copies and the only mechanical problems come from this "superior" reps. Why? I don't know, but that's my experience.

so sometimes asian mecs can be more reliable than the "swiss" one, but a REAL swiss eta will probably be indestructible if serviced correctly. The problem with asian movements is that they probably have zero parts to repair them when they break.

  9. I'd suggest:

    first quartz or automatic.

    asian or swiss mecanism.

    chrono or non chrono.

    leather or ss band.

    gold plated or solid SS.

and it's all about your taste, I'd never buy a gold plated one as it will fade, we don't know when, but it will.

    best combination from the above:

    *auto

    *swiss non chrono

    *ss bracelet

    *solid ss

in that range you'll find very good, tested, unbeatable pieces within a vast range of prices, the least complicated the movement is, the simplest and more reliable the watch can be. Besides, it will probably give you the least of problems.

    good hunting!

    Chino.

  10. Did the dealer send pics of the watch before purchase? 'cause I'm zero anal when it comes to the "ultimate/ superduper/ 1000% exact" rep, I even like 21j asians, but I wouldn't accept the clear digital lcd... this is the exact same problem the tag monaco 69 has. too bad.

    good luck!
