So i picked up a PAM 204 for the wife but she didnt' like the rep strap very much. She latched on to an OF strap i had for the 005 so I decided to let her have it. No biggie right? Wrong
i cannot for the love of all that is holy get these damn posts to tighten up after changing the strap. Is there some trick that I am painfully unaware of? Do i need to glue the bastards in? These little damn screws are not deep enough to actually hold the strap posts in place! WTF.
Someone please guide me in the right direction before i break out some JB Weld.
Sounds like a call for a pair of River's springbars
DOH!
be good if i could read
getting my 04's and my 40's crossed, even more stoopid given i just parted with a 204
best of luck with the glue

As I said
Can of worms
I wearing his 055 today and had his 195 on last night. Both very good watches which I expect to be wearing in years to come.
Have yet to see any out of the box PAM's that offer better bang for buck. But will happily be proved wrong, but still waiting.
Also on all accounts no other dealer seems to offer this model with the canon pin mod. So you really don't have too much choice.
Not sure what parts that wouldn't fit anyway that you'd want to change. If the Crown is too thin you could always ask for a thicker crown. The one on my 195 is fine
Good luck

Here's my "watch box". It's a simple way to store them, and if they need winding just fire up the beast and run it WOT for a few seconds... presto, all wound up!
Now that has made my morning
thats a proper storage solution

Hello, I'm a newbie looking to buy my first PAM rep. I'm interested in DSN PAM PVD 009 and he quotes me $340 for Asian movement. Is the price right? Although I'm aware that his reps are better quality, the price seems a little high to me compared to other dealers'. Thanks.
CAN OF WORMS
His PVD is different

Now that looks very cool, the mix of vintage and ultra modern works well ST

MODEM BURNER WARNING , will remove if required
Sorry Fish I don't have an electronic ruler.
These might be useful if you can get the scale right.
Hope they help, and good luck with your quest

I can't believe that I am the only one hard on watches. I can't seem to keep from scratching these things. Just today I scratched my "virtually scratch-proof" gen submariner crystal again! Yes, that is two scratches on the sapphire crystal for me! I have also managed to scratch my rep Tag Aquaracer's crystal multiple times.
I don't even like looking at the bracelets. I'm always scratching them too. Oh look...another scratch. Fark!
So...is anyone else a klutz like me or does everyone keep there collection in pristine condition?
I'm with you, 2 day on my Noobmariner I scratched the bezel at the 10 Marker down to the metal. My PVD 195 pam has scratch on the bezel on the crown side and my 2 Ti Pams have scratches on the bezel at the 6 o'clock position. the things I DO NOT KNOW how any of them got there? . Must be the elves at night.ST

I've bought one of this to give as a present to my father. The watch in reality is 300% better than in the photos. I got the white dial, blue numbers and rose gold, and every single person that looked the watch wanted one. I've asked another for myself. My father says it is the more beautiful he has had in all his life and, specially, the best to read the time at his 86 years old.
I recomend it. The date window works fine, and you can advance the date with the pusher at left. The only thing I'ask for is that the subdials were also white, not chrome.
A nice shout but Come on that needs a wrist shot from your old man.
we wait with bated breath

This is an observation I've been making about the community here with regard to the latest rolex rep, the ceramic GMT II. I started that thread because I was super-stoked that this 1:1 rep was being made, with ceramic no less, and the correct, new bracelet. Then the responses were mostly a bunch of pissing and moaning, wild speculations about the price, misinformation and incorrect speculation about the build, etc...
The reaction is not a huge issue to me, I don't really care what people think.
Dude
Its not just Rollies, every board around these parts of late seems to be full of negative thoughts. Its seems unless your watch has a certain % of gen parts then its just not good enough. Its a shame because I thought this hobby was supposed to be fun. But there are many who wish to rain on our parade.
Perhaps they are plants form AD's trying to dampen our enthusiasm.
I thought the GMT looked pretty sweet, and its now firmly on my To Do list

How accurate is this DSN 009 PVD?
in The Panerai Area

That looks pretty nice IMO. The only thing is that its hard to see where the crown meets the case. Given the recent issue highlighted in another post I would ask for another picture to ensure there is no cut out. If thats ok I'd go for it. DSN's PVD is pretty sweet and I have no issues with my 195.
Let us know how it goes.
