So this is my first review type post and I have to say IM PRETTY DAMN NERVOUS, but as I feel I take so much away from this forum I thought I'd try to give a little back.
Firstly I don't really do pictures as you will see, my camera seems to act randomly and has a mind of its own, and (I think its called auto focus.) Secondly I do not even pretend to think this is a perfect or hugely accurate rep. The thing is it was my FIRST rep and I purchased it in Sept 2007 before I'd even found RWG so I guess that means she has a special place in my watch box.
So its Rolex 1655 Explorer II Steve McQueen Orange Hand number. I'm not sure were the McQueen tag comes from I say it's because he wore one in his last film Hunter. When it first arrived I thought it was a really bad example mainly due to there being no luminous circle on the second hand, this turns out to be correct hand for the 1971 version. Alas the bracelet on it though is for the later mid 70's version and should be a nice 571 riveted construction.
For those non Rolex nerds amongst us the watch was designed for speleologists (cavers) and the orange hand is supposed to indicate the 24 hour time so here we can see I was up at 4am taking these pictures. I adjusted the time and date and forgot to put the crown back in before taking these shots. It would have been nice to have had an instruction manual as these aren't always the easiest of watches to set and sometimes the date changes halfway through the day if i'm not careful. Time to invest in a watch winder me thinks.
When I first join the forum I read a lot of moans about Rolex dates and the magnifiers being weak. Though I can see it on some reps I've really never been bothered by this one as it seems fine to me, as I hope you can see in these 2 pictures.
Other things that seem to be a big issue with Rolex reps are the crown guards. Now I have only just started to begin to get to grips with this subject matter and I'm just starting to see the differences , but like the date, I really don't see too much of an issue with these CG's.
I also think the plexi glass crystal looks pretty sweet to.
As I've read and learn I see that there are issues with the dial, the coronet is not quite right and the Superlative chrono could be bigger and lower perhaps. Things that bug me are the colour of the orange hand and the

I may be selling mine soon
And I will be pushing my way to the front of that queue.

Run Run away, be afraid very afraid
its not the reps that will get you, its the Straps, the fonts , the lumes, the spacing the CG's and the crowns and the prices should i spend $195 or $200 and then the movements asian or swiss? and then theres the photos AAAAGGGHHHHHHHH
and where to keep them, I'm on my second box already
IT NEVER STOPS
turn around now
and if you don't
well then welcome and enjoy the mayhem

Great Post and coincidently I've just come back from my watch maker who refused to take my money and pressure test a watch for me; perhaps you should offer this service.
Did you take all the pics with the waterproof camera?
As I have a similar one and my pics are so poor compared to your shining examples... Could you PM me your camera setting if you get a chance

Clearly somewhere in the middle would thus suit us all

I just got 2 pearls from oferi.com. $10 each. Its fitted perfectly into my SD. They didn't have the metal ring round them that some bezels have/need , so that you know.

Quick and easy transaction. But if you do get a new Sub and want somewhere to send the old one, I'm sure I could find a spot for it
ST

I'm agree with you, I saw this watches in near AD and fall in love.
I doubt it guys but you never know as there have been a few unexpected reps of late. The closest thing to these is the Graham brand. Check out the swordfish from the usual dealers that might help you.

Good work Dude, you should be chuffed to bits.
If you ever feel like making a nice 104 Dial for me I'd have off you like a shot.

Excellent work Slart, it highlights the issues with mine all the more. My orange hand is just so wrong and the 1/2 hour markers not touching the edge is starting to bug me.
Enjoy and wear it well

He probably think's you're being overpaid, being that you're wearing a $28K(valued) watch and he probably doesn't.
He wears a Kennth Cole with a busted strap, he has no shame

Sean, here are some pics I posted already. Took me a while to search for them, but I'm glad I did.
These types of posts serve as handy reference in future.

Folks
Thanks for the timely post as I've just got my first 1665 today. Its a fantastic thing. But mines been modded and for that vintage look the pearl has been removed. I can't help think I'd like it there. Could you please explain the term " illumes dots from Ofrei". Can you point me in the direction of where I might get a vintage pearl.
Many thanks in advance
AH the power of google! That'll be oferi.com then. And I think I have my dots and pearls confused.
