  1. It Will never Happen, maybe a quartz version Will be produced. Or better Still they Will produce a case set/dial and hands for an El Primero Install. Thats the best possibility.
  2. I had the other day the opportunity to compare both Genuine and replica Deep Sea and thought Id make a few observations on the differences. The picture im afraid is a little dark as I was not able to spend some time getting the light correct but it shows both models reasonably well .The replica version I am unsure of but it is rather good imo . The most glaring differences to me between them are the following : 1. The replica has a black dial which is too glossy, the original`s dial is a subtle black almost extremely dark graphite colour. 2.Bezel fonts too thin and the click is rather loud and cheap sounding . 3.The inner bezel with the engraving on the genuine is deeper than the replica . In other words on the replica it is closer to the glass .This is very noticeable when you see them both together. Also the printing is a little too dark and blobby here. 4 . `Deep Sea ` dial font is too thick on the replica. 5.Swiss made is spaced out too far on the replica. 6.The clasp on the original has a good satin almost sand blasted finish, the replica is pretty shoddy with blobby printing . 7 . The Rolex emblem on the underside of the divers extension is properly stamped on the genuine as oppossed to engraved on the replica. 8.The bezel pearl is too bulbous and slightly too green in colour but to be honest a very good example here. 9. Helium valve has an extra ring/collar which is different to the genuine. Thats about it!! Overall a very good attempt with this model. What does always worry me is the quality of the parts used in the manufacture of the Glidelock clasp, it looks very accurate but will it hold up to regular useage? TomH
  3. Hi Tom,

Do you still have the datjeust case? Do you have any pictures?

    Thanks

  4. I have many regular customers and ahandful of problems on this forum, Im glad you say Im not recommended as its a lot less hassle for me, doing jobs for next to nothing and then getting it in the neck when the cheapo copies dont turn out to be what the dealers sold them as and Im expected to turn a sows ear into a glowing pearl necklace! I dont have a storefront , reason , my choice it wasnt worth the hassle . If I was bothered I would advertise my services elsewhere but I dont need to. Those that are sensible use my services and receive good service. Those that arnt can go elsewhere. My choice again . For the record the Op had his watch serviced and after a month or so reported a small problem . It wasnt until almost a year he decided to return it . I said I would sort the problems out FOC . Which I have. End of story. TomH
  5. I have been away and sent you 2 emails. The `free` job I have done for you is in the post. Tom
  6. hi mate,

i saw a post in a thread and was wondering: do you do repairs in the UK? my SSD has stopped, it always has once in a while, starting again after a little tap, but no i'm afraid it's stopped for good.

  7. I think you would be surprised how many Vintage Rolex collectors wear their Red Subs and Seadwellers . I would like to see a good 1675 , the mid 70`s watch would be the best to make , matt dial . Either that or an early 60`s pointed guards with chapter ring guilt dial and bleached pepsi bezel, now theres a thought... TomH
