R from the photos it looks a bit yellowish but I am sure it is the colour balance... Of course there is no need to comment on your reluming skills You have reached perfection and still trying to improve it !!!
Thanks for the kind words guys.. I enjoyed making the dark brown straps.. I think they look great with vintage watches...
Again wear them and enjoy them because they will get great patina in time...
@G all the leather i get must be great and smell great as well...
I thought as well to DLC a 210.. it will look VERY COOL to me... BUT.. gold hands will do a great contrast and they will look odd with the black case.. I think it will ruin the balance of the watch.. GOld hands in a SS 210 i would say yes.. on a pvd no..
Ahhh.. and don't really mess the dial.. I think it is stupid for someone who is member of the rep community. If you want a franken make a rep franken one. Don't ruin the genuine...
Would love to see your 210 DLC'd. but nothing else..
Thanks guys for the kind words...
Btw the buckle is not actually rusted. Its a mixture of products to make it look like this
Here a photo of a genuine buckle but more heavily true rusted:
Both for my friend S (VDB) for his amazing Vintage pieces...
The Dark brown one is by far my BEST strap I have ever done until now.. It is almost identical to the original vintage ones.
The vintage tan is also a great hide but made stitchless to S request but still made the vintage way.
Enjoy the many photos.. Check the 'rusty' GPF buckle. my best work so far.. destined to be my new avatar
Thanks for the kind words guys.. throughout those years in the forum i got married, had a child and many good years to follow i guess
btw i need to have more posts than Victoria.. SHE was a post-[censored] .. oops i shouldnt have said that for a woman i guess
Well i have now realised i reached the 5000 posts on rwg.. it is like yesterday that i had something less than 2000 on rwg1 and when we changed home and started from 0 thought i will never reach again 2000
Anyway it is a pleasure to be here guys... A great forum indeed and made some very good friends along the way..
My friend.. My own dark tan hide strap is finished..
It get a great patina just like the vintage ones.. Here are some photos of the finished strap..
Lighter is the original.. then next to it is medium darkness with just a bit of aging and finally on the watch it is quite dark brown..
