I think the only issue may be stem alignment as the 1120 is a bit thiner and you may need to space the dial .5mm away, Pugwash had a similar issue with a planet ocean.
That's what I remember.
Not sure of my skills about that...
Hello Domenico!
I have done a swap like this several times.
The minor different in movement height is not really an issue. I haven't had any problems with mine.
only suggestion would be to get genuine hands. The rep ones don't cut it.
good luck
Thank you, Good to know.
Yes, I'll order the hands from ofrei.
I'm afraid about the CGs too:
Maybe they have to be shaved in order to put gen stem and crown?
-
Am i mistaken or the SMP in your pic is a heavily modded franken?
How did you mod the pearl? It looks great.
Did you also replace the crystal?
I'd say... yes replace the movement, the watch is a beauty and it's well worth it.
Not sure though if it's a straight swap.
Thanks but I'm not sure this one can be called "heavily modded".
Only the crystal and the dial are gen parts.
The pearl is not modded, the insert comes from this rep from andrew:
Nice one isn't it?
Edit: I forgot, bezel is gen too.

Hi gang,
I still have a gen 1120 in my parts box.
I'm still wondering if I'll install it in my beloved modded 2254.50 "old factory" SMP.
What do you think about that and what kind of extra parts do I'll need?
Thanks.

Here is the caseback after wearing the watch 15 days.
I swear I didn't scratch it.
After two monthes, the crown broke, that's the usual issue on reps so no big deal...
I mailed Neo to inform him about the caseback.
He told me that he maybe could change it.
But since I sent him the pic, he never answered me...
What do you think about that kind of flaw and do you think that ETZ wille stay in stealth mode ?
-
Yes. The old version of the SMP Chrono is unbeatable.
Definitely.
-
Check that thread: speedy quartz
I bought one of these too. It's a very good deal.
The question is: What kind of flaw you can't stand.
A Wrong subdial spacing or ticking hands?
I prefer an automatic one, the movement is a workhorse and the overall quality is good.
But I can't stand a wrong subdials spacing... so I bought the quartz...
-
20mm will fit, 18mm is for midsize SMPs
-
-
I deeply hope you'll find it soon.
-
I asked too for the same parts, but as you said they don't.
So I had to order a complete spare case from the seller who sold me my SMP chrono.
Less than 80$
It was Andrew from TT.
But meanwhile, I bought 2used gen bezels and insert from seller Bab409 on ebay.
Ask him, you never know...
-
I think I'll buy a DG lite one, Doing that I will be able to check for an affordable price the modding possibilities of this rep.
EDIT: Andy you're right, I check, it doesn't work today

Gotta bump this thread.
I too think that the Omega Seamaster 300's..vintage...2254. or PO, are the
most handsome of all the swiss divers...regardless of price. FWIW.

The pictures are uploaded on Html home page on the website:
Home page - new watches 09- "om-vin-sea-no-date"
Usually opening ETZ, the html loading page fail, so you just have to click on "home" After 30 seconds the page appears.
-
This is an incredible co-incidence but one of my "favorite sellers" on the Bay has one of this style/vintage right NOW on the block
vintage watch dealer in CA vintage Omega
I didn't know this model, but it seems that he don't sell the watch, only the mesh bracelet.
Neo from ETZ gave me his price for the "no date"
the DG 2813 - 128 usd
DG 4813 - 158 usd
copy eta - 240 usd
ETA - 280 usd
-
Wow Ubi, That's a bargain... Congratulations!
Edit: What should be the price of a frankenphong?
-
Yours are really great mates!
No, I don't especially want a Milspec.
I'd like a no date, same era.
I stopped on that one because I saw it (preview) on ETZ site...
I really have a love affaire with black SMPs.
Thanks for the link red.
-
Good job!
Wear it well.
-
Thanks, it's a beautiful one!
BTW, I like your collection.
Phong J&W? Is he a seller from another board?
-
As an Omega fan, I'd like to have in my collection a vintage Seamster 300.
I saw lately that Eurotimez shows this watch on its hompage and could perhaps source it (waiting for an answer)
Does anybody have already seen that rep elsewhere?
-
I'd be in at $60.
-
Postman delivered me that thing of beauty today:
Back to Domenico... again...
-
According to a french famous adman, you must wear a Rolex when you are 50...
Get the gift your heart want, don't listen to anyone.
-
Yes (for the blue)
Nowadays it's quiet impossible to find a better 2531.80 rep.
PT and others trustful sellers on the board have this one.
I still own one, keeping good time after 2 years...
The bonus on the PT's Smp, if he really can source the same as pictured, is the well centred pearl .
Avoid the black SMP, none of these are enough accurate.
