  1. The difference has nothing to do with the angle you view it at, and the waves are raised on the rep as they are on the gen. The difference is that on the gen the waves are matte while the rest of the face is polished making the contrast of the waves to the rest of the face very strong. On the rep the waves are only raised but not brushed so the contrast is not as strong. Certainly a noticeable difference but the rep is still a great value.
  2. go for it. screw what they all think. and if you really hate it you can listen to them next time
  3. Seems like on the RG UNBS they worte "limited to 1846 pieces", problem is that the RG is limited to 500 pieces... Just saying....
  4. LMAO.... If Josh took any pride in his business he would remove those UN's right away !!!
  5. Like I mentioned before, I am not going to hold my breath waiting for a good Ulysse Nardin rep, do to the chrono positions and complications of UN's, etc... But who can look at these watches (or almost any UN watch for that matter) and not be in complete awe. Beware: You will drool if you look at these pics! Is there anybody here who holds enough clout with rep manufacturers to get them to rep a Ulysse Nardin ?
  6. Hey By-Tor, I like the Zentih idea, I love the Ebel idea, and personally I am sick of Rolex's. I think too much time has been spent on Rollies. We already have great and near perfect reps of more than one kind of Rolex. I think it's time to start focusing on other watch brands. I would like to see some Breitling for Bentley's done properly. With Proper coloring, allignment, AR, etc... I would like to see an HBB with ceramic bezel for the same price as any other good rep. I would like to see a nice Breguet rep done properly. And I would also like to see a good Ulysse Nardin rep, but that is unlikely do to the chrono positions and complications of UN's. Let's see how many of these wishes come true
  7. Thanx! But... Why has it never shown up while tracking any of my other packages?
  8. I ordered a Santos 100 Chrono from Joshua about a week ago. This morning I decided to track the package. The EMS website had the usual breakdown of the shipping process that they normally have... Until the last two steps. The last two steps were - "Handed over to Customs" and "Released from Customs". Does anybody know what that means? I do not recall ever seeing custioms mentioned when tracking a package. Does this mean that i am going to have to pay some sort of fee when the watchis delivered? Or does it mean that they are OK with the package? Any help is appreciated
  9. Thank You! Your reply is really helpful! Just one question though... Why is it that you would get the 112H as your first??
  10. I have already dealt with Josh quite a few times, and I have always been happy with his service. It's just that as far as I know, his watches need some modding before they are perfect, although they are very good. I would like perfect
  11. Tankx for the help! However... From what I've been hearing TWP is phenominal, but he is sought after for the quality of his watches more than how close to gens they are. (Is that incorrect?) So although I would like a quality watch, I would rather a one that is closer to the gen and a slightly lower quality.
  12. Thank You, But I especially like the transparent caseback. Considdering that what would you say?
  13. To all you Panerai aficionados... I have been collectimg replicas for some time now, and I never understood the appeal of Panerai's. Although I've always been told that "they will grow on you" and "they are aquired taste", etc... I never bought into it. Recently, however, they have been growing on me, and I think I am ready to make the move. So... 1 - My objective is to get the most authentic looking PAM, for the best possible price. (Very unoriginal, I know). What I mean to say is, that I would like the watch to look authentic in every way possible, but I am not so specific as to the perfection of the movement. For example, if when looking through the case-back, a cheaper Chinese movement will look as authentic as a higher end Swiss movement, I would rather the Chinese. Even though it might not keep time as accurately in the long term.... Another example is - I do not want a stainless steel strap, and I know the leather straps are never really authentic looking. I therefore will opt for a rubber strap, since they are authentic looking (aren't they?)and I will not have to spend on an upgrade to an expensive leather strap. 2 - I do not really care which model PAM it is, I care more about the perfection of it. I suppose I would go for whichever model is the most accurate rep. I am thinking about the 111H since it seems to be a great rep, but I am not sure, and your suggestions would be greatly appreciated. 3 - If and when I get Panerai addiction, (which I very likeky will), as so may PAM collectors seem to have gotten, where can I seek help
  14. How close to the gen did you get with the 8 prototypes, and how can i get one?
  15. Hi TTK, I'm new to this forum and I just read your post about how you are out of the game. It's a shame. It would have been nice to have someone like you around to help me with my new hobby. So.. Am I the first one to get the "Kwitzas Haderech" thing? Or are there alot of "us" out there? Wishing you much "kvitzas haderech", and "hatzlacha" wherever you go from here.
