JohnG, I want to address you directly....... you're a good guy struggling with some issues that you're well aware of. I like you a lot, and I respect the humble and honest manner in which you confessed. I feel a lot of compassion and empathy toward you, as I think you know. We all have our demons. You're not a bad person. You need support, and I hope you will get some of that outside of the forums -in person. Please get out of the house and do what you need to. And for the times that you can't do that, I know there are a bunch of guys on this and other online forums that care about you and support you. It's appropriate for you to feel bad about the pain that's resulted from your actions, don't dismiss that... but also don't dwell on it and expand to believing deeper negative things about yourself.
