I had an issue with my black faced one with the date not changing at all. I sent it back and changed it for the new Super Sea-Dweller. Should be here tomorrow...

Did you just have to clean up the tube threads with the tap or did you actually have to drill the hole bigger?

Is the rep tube also threaded or just glued into the case? If there are no threads can it be tapped or is the hole too big? I have one of these coming and am curious to see if I can replace the crown and tube...

ETA. It's been running for 2 days and the date hasn't moved. Not even half way.

Already contacted the dealer,just waiting for a reply. He is one of the recommended ones so I am assuming it will not be an issue. It does not even make an attempt to turn over.

Yes I can alter the date when in the date setting position. Just won't turn over when I rotate the hands or it passes 12.

Thanks for the reply. I meant that even when winding the hands with the stem al the way out the date does not change. I can set it with the crown pulled out part way but moving the hadns does not change it.

Just got my black faced steelfish yesterday and it looks great. Quick question, I am able to set the date via the crown but when I am unable to change the date by rotating the hands. I haven't allowed it to rotate on it own with thee crown screwed in yet so I don't know if it will actually switch. Is this normal? If so how do I know when I am in AM or PM mode when switching the date? Thanks
