  1. My UPO has chief AR, it's very strong and almost colourless, you can see a pale greeny blue tint in certain angles and it's very focused, not over the entire crystal if that makes any sense! I've handled a UPO with k222 double AR which was very strong with a deep blue/purple tint, this was more gen-like in appearance (judging from photos, I've never handled a gen UPO).

In all honesty either Taka's or Chief's AR will be a big improvement, I haven't seen Taka's AR but if he offers a blue tint then that might be closer to gen, but Chief might be able to offer that too.. I think with Chief's most people are blown away by the sheer strength of it, in some angles it really looks like there's no crystal on the watch!

  2. Damn that's looking tasty, bro :good::drinks: Where did you pick it up from?

Thanks bro! :drinks: I picked it up in Nov 2008, wore it a few times and gave it to my Dad. He wore it as a daily beater for 3 years and handed it back to me  (he now wants something a little different!) I was going to re-finish it but felt the scratches/dings/wear gave it so much more character :) It's still keeping excellent time too!

That's a very classy looking Datejust :) Very popular in the 80's I think, Harrison Ford wears a similar one in 'Frantic' but his is a white dial with roman numerals. I wish I still had mine, I went through quite a few, my favourite was a rhodium dial with roman numerals.. I think I might do a build soon.. :)

  4. but I decided to try the silver dial out of curiousity, and I love the results, it really does have that 'Classic Rolex look' to it :) (ironically, I have a book showing a photo of a Japanese tattoo master, wearing the exact same combo  )

Would love to see this one bro :) Have you got a link to another picture that's the exact or very similar combo to yours?

  5. In my experience the quartz version reps always use different parts than the 7750 version and they're often not as well constructed or finished. Mind you this is going back a couple of years and I'm not sure if there are quartz chrono reps out there now that use the same cases/bracelets as the 7750 versions.

In saying this the quartz chrono reps offer outstanding value, especially when compared to what you can get at similar price levels from retail outlets :) And as TeeJay mentioned you can't beat the accuracy (timekeeping that is).
