  1. I wear a low profile watch while traveling abroad - like my Invicta sub.
  2. The TC LV insert is pretty good but he only sells this as a complete watch now. Since he is getting WM9 stuff, I wonder how these compare to the old WM9 inserts.
  3. If you are in the bay area I can recommend a watchmaker in SF. He cleaned and polished my Seamaster GMT such that it looks like new again. The charge was $265.
  4. Yes, I agree. People should be gentlemen on this forum. If a seller says 'sorry I made a mistake, I'm two hours from the post office and it will go out in another day' then the buyer should be grateful for the good communication or he should politely let the seller know that that doesn't work and that the seller should just do the paypal refund.
  5. I'd refund the guys paypal payment and tell him that you'd rather do business someone anyone else. You shouldn't have take this abuse from anyone.
  6. The seconds@9 16520 Daytona is still an option an the movement doesn't have reliability problems.
  7. Yes, I took the back off. This one is an automatic 7750. I ordered it that way. No markings between the lugs.
  8. I'm sort of curious as to the origins of the DW case and why he is the only person selling it. He's not manufacturing it himself, is he? I just picked up a 7750 based 6263 rep. I've been wondering how it is different than a DW. Maybe it's the same? It fits a 7750 movement and it's only 38mm wide.
  9. In my garage, I just found an old swiss army quartz watch I had forgot about. Not very exciting! How much did the WM9 watches originally cost?
  10. People usually recommend Cousins especially if you are in the UK: http://www.cousinsuk.com/ I believe the technical name for the A7750 is 3LZF2
  11. Do any of those Seagull, Venus, etc. handwind vintage Daytonas have a fully working Chronograph? I often see them with the subdial at 6 frozen.
  12. I think this is a giant guerilla marketing campaign to test/create demand. :-)
  13. I just got mine off of ebay. I made the guy what I thought was a lowish offer and he accepted it.
  14. Here is the start of my next project:
  15. Personally, I've been really enjoying my 21J Noobmariner. It cost $65 shipped to the US. I wanted to get my feet wet at the low end of the spectrum. As mentioned, the better movements get you a smoother sweep. Is it worth it to you? The other issue to think about is that once you have a sub on your wrist you and pretty much nobody else will see the small details people talk about on the forums. On my sub the rehaut rengraving isn't correct, the pearl material sits lop-sided in it's housing, and the Rolex crown etched on to the crystal doesn't line up exactly with the six marker but you can't see anything of those details without a magnifying glass. (see attached magnifying glass shot). Do you see any of that in the small pic?
  16. And the nickname MBK comes from the MBK mall in Mahboonkrong? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MBK_Center Thanks for the lesson guys.
  17. Are MBW and MBK synonymous? I've seen them used interchangeably. What do you think about Narikaa's Noob subs from Thailand versus the ones from China? Honestly, I have a $55 Timeshop LV Sub and I can't tell the difference between that and the Thailand Noob Sub.
  18. Thanks for clarifying. I never made the narikka / mbw connection before. I agree about practicing on inexpensive stuff. Silix has a $29 noob sub and Timeshop has some that are a little better for $55.
  19. Honestly, sometimes it's really had to figure out the acronyms especially since you can't search for "MBW" in the forum. It doesn't help to read 20 threads that mention MBW if knowbody tells you what MBW or provides a link. As best I can tell, MBW is "Mary's Best Watch" aka Watch International, and she's not a trusted dealer here but has a forum on the other RWG web site. Did I get it right? Or, am I totally off?
