  2. this is not a watch it is a work of art

one of the interesting projects i ever saw.

But you need a decorated Unitas movement... hahahahahahh Jochen Benzingers hand made gold gears on a Unitas plain movement. This $250 gears costs more as the complete watch :D:D:D

LOL! i have one too... i just did this one for fun tourby! the decorated movements i have are reserved for another project :)

  3. this is a one off custom peice i made for my own collection.. Yggdrasil from repgeek and rwi handpainted the dial, i used an unbranded 47mm rad case with a bestfit crown and stem, inner side super thick AR coating on the sapphire crystal, lumed in 2 colors b5m for blue glow indices and g8uf for green glow numerals..near the same color uncharged.. i used pvd breguet hands lumed with c3. for the movement i used a genuine ETA unitas 6498-1 with gold hand engraved gears from master watchmaker benzinger. the strap is a 26mm genuine gator from big watch boutique :) i had this idea after i saw the handpainted dials yggdrasil was offering... they are incredible and truly one of a kind!

    enjoy:)

  4. looks awesome! i found a pvd company that says with a $250 minimum order.. they will be less than $15/ea case to pvd! if anyone has a bunch they want to send let me know and i'll give you the info. this pvd came out really nice!! much better imo than davidsen's pvd that easily rubs off..

  5. i had to share this... it is too cool :) this is a vintage bulova from the 40's... sent to me because it was completely dead... the movement was totally black and gummed up. no sign of life.. the dial, while it had a nice patina, was pretty weathered as well.. i wanted to preserve the vintage look of the dial so i mixed a thin coat of c3 to transparently cover the old non-glowing lume and still leave the patina. i cleaned all the dirt and stains from the dial before reluming. the movement after full disassembly and more than a few cycles through the ultrasonic cleaner and some fresh lube.. came out to an almost mirror like polish and runs smooth as silk.. i wish i took some "before shots but this is the result.. i cannot wait to give this back to the owner. it's for a friend of mine so i went a bit over the top for him.......fully flaved!!

notice i preserved the vintage patina of the lume markers.

striking movement in this one!!! they don't make them like this anymore....unless you want to spend big $$$$

the best part :) what would a "flaved" watch be without the vintage superluminova???

  6. i've had a few conversations with thumb and he's a pretty cool guy. i actually just sold him some tritec superlume recently. he seems to know what he's doing and i'm sure he would support you if there is an issue. i needed a 111h dial right away and he shipped one to me 2 days to my door.. go for it. thumb gets a thumbs up from me.
