  1. No. you lift it out, and have it resealed. Due to the hot water it is hot higher pressure air escaping, not water ingress. Cheers, Dale
  2. Absolutely right! Likewise if some jerk were questioning the pedigree of your watch the last thing you would do if it were an item of real worth is remove it and hand it to them.
  3. It's back! New pictures losing the blue film and 'AAA' sticker I have re-reported, Asking why won't Ebay take this stuff seriously.
  4. It was snapped when you went to wind it for the SECOND time? A moonwatch style speedmaster with a screw down crown? is the rep that far off spec?
  5. I think this blows both ways, I most certainly do not like the wording from the emails, it seems constraining and has an almost threatening tone. How will it harm the relationship? will the vendor screw up your order, or send it elsewhere? Ridiculous! However we have to remember we most likely also have a language/translation factor involved too, and the choice of words may not be the best. I don't agree that QC pics should not be examined beyond correct product identification. What a waste of information that would be. I want to scrutinize them to be sure I am buying wisely and well. If they are solely for product id, then call them product id/confirmation photos, not QC. All this said, the many ignorant or inaccurrate comments among the knowledgeable ones that follow such posts can help noone, and only 'good' info helps you. Pics of gens are abundant, I always think, take your time, find some good shots, compare to the QC pics for yourself, and be confident with your findings. Cheers, Dale
  6. Heard this one attributed to a British comedian a few days ago.. When I was a kid we used to play a game,.. we used to creep up to someones front door, ring the doorbell,.. then run like hell before anyone saw you,.... yeah,.. We used to call it 'parcelforce'!
  7. If it is the same as mine the bezel and crystal assembly are screwed on from the back. Remove the caseback, and you will see more screwheads running through to the face side of the watch, gently tighten these and the crystal assembly should close back up. Cheers, Dale
  8. Overall length tip of top lug to tip of bottom measured straight across the underside of the watch is 51mm. Cheers, Dale
  9. Having just compared both his products with the rep dial that came from my SA, and the gen dial from Diamond castle that is now in it, I would venture to say that both he is selling are reps. cheers
  10. I've never yet met anyone who was rude enough to question the pedigree of any watch that I have worn. Tonight wearing a new Pam 196 From WatchMark, "See you've got a new watch Dale?" 'Yes, one I have been fancying for a while', " nice"... end of conversation. I honestly think that for the unconfident the ethos can perpetuate, I know, so everyone else must know... Just chill and enjoy... Most people wouldn't know an omega from a Timex. cheers, Dale
  11. Mine came from Precious Time, a forum trusted dealer, and UK based so no customs issues. website: http://www.precioustime-uk.com/ PM: http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?showuser=605 Cheers, Dale
  12. Hi, It shouldn't wear off, on mine the figures are engraved/recessed so are below the bezel top surface. cheers
  13. I believe Lanikai is exactly right, if you are uncomfortable with the quality, or percieved status of your timepiece it is you that attract the attention, not it. If complimented, take it casually in good standing, do not rush to 'explain' yourself. Very few people will even notice it, let alone know what it actually is, (or is not) From a purely personal point of view, I have never worn or owned a Rolex, rep or gen. For all the regularly quoted reasons, people seem to expect a rolex to be a rep, whether or not it be real, an excellent rep or a dire cheap copy. there is an inflated value attached to it to the uninformed that breeds doubts of authenticity, even though most would still not have a clue why. I have what I consider to be quality reps, SMP Chrono, TAG Aquaracer, BCE, SOSF, et al, I am by no means wealthy, but am relatively comfortable, but can categorically state that I have never yet met anyone arrogant, or rude enough to question the pedigree of my timepieces, my point being gentlemen, wear them well, and with confidence, and you should never have to be embarrassed,... after all you already know more than most people you will meet! regards, Dale
  14. You're very welcome, glad to help Cheers
