still interested!
:-)
-
was originally scheduled to be shipping by Aug 10th (today)
I did buy one last week but haven't received any QC pics yet.
seems like there will be a delay!
Has anyone received the new 005 yet? Really interested to see how good it is before I buy. Looks great on Andrew's site and if it is as good as the 176/177 recently released I know where my next $200 is going.

I need one!
Anyone would like to sell their?
Thanks
-
could be from an innocent bump or just from structural stress...
even heard about crystals exploding in airplanes! lol
never had such issues with my 253 and 212
:-)
When you say break. Are we talking about just having it on your wrist breaking - or bumping into things breaking?
-
I'm sure this will be my first post of many.
I have, unfortunately for my bank account, caught the replica bug. I purchased a 176M from Andrew (trustytime) a few weeks ago and, after getting rid of the crappy calf skin strap, I am so pleased with the results. Due to his awesome service on my last purchase I am now considering buying a 253 flyback from him. Couple of issues that is holding me back though which I'm hoping one of you fine people can help me with.
The 253 that Andrew lists has synthetic sapphire with AR coating. Is this an issue? Does it look good compared to the gen or would I have to replace it? If so what kind of cost would be involved in that?
On my 176 I put a "Strap Works" alligator strap on (looks the business) but with the Flyback I think I should use a deployant strap which SW don't sell so I'm thinking of getting a "The Watch Boys" strap instead. Any experience with these guys?
I can't post links as I've not posted 5 times yet but to see the watch I'm talking about, go to trustytime and search for PN007A.
Any advice or alternatives would be gratefully received.
the later ultimate version of the 253 is really nice.
however the crystal is mineral and has a tendency to break, mainly due to the curvature otherwise the clarity is excellent...
there used to be a post about 1:1 212/253 sapphire for sale a few months ago.

bummer!
I'd been a buyer for a 005 with better engravings
:-(
-
any refinements made to the Pam 005k in stock now?
-
bought from both in the past, two great dealers.
My 177 is coming from Josh.
:-)
-
yes and yes!
:-)
is this the newest one form Josh. is Josh perfect clones?
-
the one in the middle seems fine to me...
the good news is there is enough tolerance to fix the problem.

L333/500

Can hardly wait for the 177 with a nice roller-ball CG and correct L serial ;-)
-
great work as always!
any chance you will ever tackle the crown-guard?
-
WOW!
excellent job!
May I ask where you got the leather from?
Thanks!
Hi,
I want to show you my making of travel pouch and the straps. The ultimative vintage combo for Panerai or similar. The straps ar 26/26mm and 125/75mm.
The travel pouch fits one 47mm Pam (or similar) with maximum strapsize of 170/85mm.
The leather is exciting, all "damages" are by nature from the cow.
Enjoy the pics:

Has anyone ever seen the back of his straps?
This would be enlightening...
All I can say, if it is to be constructive, is that the level of craftsmanship is very "basic"
Not my cup of tea!
-
Da Luca...
who would buy a $200 strap made out of a belt...
half an hour to build a strap, no patience nor care!
...and no edge coat!
check out his videos on you tube! lol
:-)
E,
You're not on the short exotics list because your straps hold a very special value to me. It's not even the strap itself but rather the concept and the emotional content that is important. I just don't think I can't pull it off properly. It seems so much more at home under the Nicaraguan sun in a Hemingwayesque setting rather than under fluorescent bulbs of an office. But I hope this will all change some day

PLEASE!!!!!!!
Stop posting pics of that NIIICE CG on your 061
:-)
Wow....most of these look gen to me!
Here are a few pics of my 061c.
-
really nice!
and that CG is sweet!
:-)
I'm pretty sure that B was the last series before they started using AR.
-
mine too!
the darker and vintage looking leather is hot!
:-)
I'm just about to get a new custom made strap for my 036! right now, it's on a bob ostrich strap...could be better imho.
I just can't decide, which I should choose... any opinions? stitching will be yellowish, like the indexes on the dial.
I have these 3 color options:
group shot:
this last one is so far my favourite, what do you think guys?

haven't found someone with a diamond tester yet, but will gladly let you know when I do...
:-)
Did you manage to test the crystal with a diamond tester? I found that the water drop test wass quite unreliable, the diamond tester is really the only way to go.
-
after two weeks of ownership, I must say that I'm impressed with overall quality...
movement finish is superb and it keeps excellent time (+/- 3 sec per day with 48hr power reserve) rotor is very quiet!
got my hands on a previously owned ultimate 212 and the dial lacks the depth of this one. but for some reason, the ultimate looks a little bigger that v.3 ?!?
feels like the case set is a totally different one as casebacks are not interchangeable. :-(
-
For what is it is worth, the waterdrop test was leaning towards sapphire...
But I will try to have it checked with a diamond tester and will let you know!
no sapphire.....
-
it is v3
really nice overall!
:-)
now for the flaws:
Ar is on the strong side and caseback doesn't have any serial numbers...
hey guys is this the v2?? the version who should have a saphire crystal??
i like it
What's wrong with this picture?
