Thanks!
I definately would take the hand off.
:-)
Nice watch. Love that strap. Looks great on it.I would think you'd want to take the watch apart (including the hands) before you paint. Less chance you'd screw up the dial and get paint all over it.
You should use the correct tools to remove the hands. Check out ofrei for all the tools u need (bergeon hand removers). There's different tools for different hands.

Hi,
I have a nice Pam 253 and I wish to repaint the chrono needle in the correct hue.
Can the case be opened form the top (remove bezel and crystal)
Do I need special tools to remove and put the hand back on?
Or can I just paint it while still on the watch?
Will the extra weight (paint) be a problem?
Aerosol paint or not?
That's about it for now :-)
Thanks!
Could also be a candidate for a nice relume ;-)

Yep!
Nice stealth piece...
If you we're to add some color, I'd go with the blue chrono hand...
:-)
Amazing, looks perfectST4

Thanks!
If it's one of his recent dials from about 6-9 months back, yes it will.DSN doesn't produce his custom 44mm Luminor cases anymore, he's been using standard cartel rep cases instead.
pre-V cases are exception, he makes those but they need some more work done on their design and manufacture to make them look closer to the real deal.

will a DSN dial fit a generic Pam 177 case?

Thanks!
I know about Vac, i've seen his work and read many praise his skills...
I will try sort things out with The Zigmeister and we'll see.
:-)
The Zigmeister is your Choice if you wanna stay inside Canada, otherwise, Vacume is our US version of The Zigmeister! I dont see any problem shipping across the border! Plus yourwatch will get a badly needed Vit D!!!! Florida Sunshine!

Thanks!
Try sending him a PM. He might have things turned off if he's not accepting appointments for awhile. -
I'm in Canada and don't want to have to deal with customs.
I've been trying to reach The Zigmeisterzumba but I guess he changed his @yahoo.com address.
Anyone else?
I want a full servicing and even though my dial and hands have been superlumed, I feel the color is a little greenish to my taste. So probably a nice lume job too!
:-)

OK
I managed to fix it myself.
The bridge with the gears was loose and the crown couldn't do its job.
I tightened the blue screw as shown here.
Still need a good servicing (The Zigmeister where are you?)
:-)
Hi,I have a bugging problem with my asian 6497.
I recently replaced my rep crown with a T48 on a new stem.
At first, winding was not as smooth as it was originally.
And then it went like cric-cric-crrrack-clac-clac!!!
Now nothing, not winding anymore.
I still can set the time but no way to wind it up.
:-(
This is a really nice Ti Pam with good lume and most flaws have been addressed.
What can I do?

@rnewbie: PM sent!
Thanks!

Cut mine too short when I installed my T48 :-(
PM me if you do!

I recently replaced my crown with a T48.
All went fine but there was a annoying grinding feeling when I would wind it up. It wasn't as smooth as it used to be.
Now it is more severe, the movt makes clicking sounds when I wind it. It seems to skip.
Any clue to what could be wrong?
-
...mine is having a shorter power reserve than it usually had.
could servicing be a fix?
:-(
-
Go with a T48 titanium crown.
It will be a direct fit compared to the hassle of having to rebore the tube of your rep to fit the gen crown.
:-)
please can you help me on this. I just buy and waiting for my first rep pam 177 from ioffer, and i have the chance to buy a genuine Ti crown for 44mm. can you tel me if i take off the rep crown i can install the genuine one. or if is better to buy first a good CG from ? a good REP CG need to know first were i can find one CG Ti REP and than IF i can put the genuine crown ? because i can get the genuine crown for 75$ looks good price for genuine ?.And by the way I try to find a good REP 176 modded at a good price.I have some genuine omega or longines to trade ?.Thank you.

anybody has that in their parts bin?
-
would swiss hands fit my asian7750 movement ?
-
is there a way to change the colour of the lettering on a 177h dial?
you know, from pure white to ivory/yellowish like gen?
would a coat of varnish do the job?
thanks!

got mine from Josh a year ago
no problem so far with cristal or anything...
great looking watch!
A litlle old but where does this PAM come from? I see it has the correct sans serif font, very nice! I'm about to pull the trigger on this one but doesn't know which dealer offers the best version. Amazing watch!- Edit - Any problems with exploding crystals by the way?
-
This would be my first PAM
I was seeing that at Josh's. I agree with you though that a lot of that is probably taking into account the domed crystal.
The 18.5 might not be accurate though, I'd love to hear from someone that has seen, or has one.
What size wrists do you have?
yep!
has to do with the domed crystal...
but it doesnt wear much bigger than my 177h...
I got mine from Josh and advertised thickness was 17.5mm at the time.
great watch!
I have 7.75inch wrists

jb: Where did you buy this 253? I see it has the correct sans serif font on the 3 o'clock subdial, and I can't seem to track down this version.
I have the same version...
got mine from Josh...
-
I would be interested by a nice crown!
-
you will end up with a pretty thick strap...
I haven't put a micrometer on them, and they are all different, but I would guess 3-4mm. -
21600 vs. 17000
I would find out who serviced it. Then contact that person.I was pretty sure that particular A6497, swan neck and dagger was at 28000 like gen, where as the ETA 6497 was 21,600. Am I wrong?
WTB stem for ETA 6497
