I wanted to make a post with decent pictures of this watch for quite some time... I did one a few month back, but pics did not do it justice: so there you go my fellow Rolex addicts ! My transitional 6610 SCOC albino dial Explorer for your eyes and comments ! This watch has so much appeal... I love wearing it. Specs are what you'd guess it to be: JMB mid case with half the metal gone... 90's HK rep DJ backcase transformed to Bubbleback. The only rep with 50's looking long teeth. Cartel 6238 bezel trimmed shorter Verlux T21 TC hands RT brevet crown delaforce dial Old stock slow beat a2824 converted to non hacking Yuki bracelet

Hi, I'm new to this so any help would be very much appreciated. I'm looking to get a Rolex Explorer 1, 39mm rep but don't really know where to start. I've seen a few on puretime which look OK. Has anyone got any advice, or have bought one of these? Many thanks

Dear respected experts, Need you to help me check out this Rolex Ex 1. The problem seemed to be with the dial: 1. The markings are painted on instead of the normal raised markings 2. The arabic numerics seem rounded as opposed to the more squarish ones 3. It says swiss T<25 instead of swiss made. I am however comparing this to the newer rolex Ex 1, which is the 39mm ones. But this is, of course the out of production 36mm. I don't have much to compare with, and there seem to be a few variations for this older (and dare I say, better) version. Please help! Thanks so much!

First of all, Merry Christmas to all the members, their families and beloved ones! This year Santa brought some special surprises under the tree, one of them being from Japan! That special present contains some historic information about one of my favourite Rolex models, the Explorer 1016! Long story short, what I was able to find inside that "present" was an all so important information about the Explorer dials that isn´t available anywhere else on the web. As an owner of two Explorer 1016 reps (the first being a MBW version and the second a Franken) I had a hard time understanding the dial of the MBW 1016 Explorer, as has been discussed a number of times. The main topic being, that the MBW Explorer dial is marked "Swiss Made" instead "Swiss - T<25" (Tritium radiation less than 25 mCi). Every time someone (me inclusive) has asked here on the forums, if an Explorer 1016 marked "Swiss Made" ever existed, the answer was: "No, never existed one ...". I managed to find that special dial that existed in the 1960´s ( Officially Certified Chronometer not SCOC): This "new" discovery would make some Explorer 1016 owners, having dials marked Swiss Made a bit more happy
