RWG Technical Posted July 3, 2009 Report Posted July 3, 2009 These dials are so nice, I just can't get enough of them. A slight variation on the other PVD watch, this dial and hands is an exact match to the genuine one I used for reference. Work done: PVD coating (through my own source) Drilled lugs for double screw bars Manufactured new CG lever pin, flattened and polished Dial lumed in my custom mix Hands lumed Dial flat clear coated H3 cannon and hour wheels Being a dark colour, the camera makes it appear much darker than it is in person. Adjusting the exposure, this is what the colour actually looks like in person. I have a genuine PVD crown and compared it to the PVD case coating, (this is not the same watch as above), in looking at both colour and finish, I think the match is very good. I am very happy with the results. Genuine PVD crown compared to my PVD coating.
ubiquitous Posted July 3, 2009 Report Posted July 3, 2009 I just love that deep, dark PVD tone... Looks so rich in color... Another work of art!
Drulee Posted July 3, 2009 Report Posted July 3, 2009 So that's what a good PVD case finish looks like Very nice The Zigmeister. Did you find it impossible to get a PVD lever pin?
rmcsherry Posted July 3, 2009 Report Posted July 3, 2009 It looks amazing - thanks for sharing the photos! Love the non-matching dial / hands, and the OEM screws from the 90's - the cg pin is perfect, I always prefer the original SS pin on a PVD case. Can't wait to see more
mat944 Posted July 3, 2009 Report Posted July 3, 2009 That pvd color and finish is outstanding! Not to mention the small details. Incredible work as always Z!
Noel Fleischer Posted July 3, 2009 Report Posted July 3, 2009 i've become something of PAM'aholic, with about 12 now in my collection.the straps are addicting as well. i love the PVD- that's my next one (i hope the last for now). i've been thinking of a 026 by DSN. a little sample:
l3x Posted July 4, 2009 Report Posted July 4, 2009 The effort you put into your watches really shows. Beautiful work as always.
fishgodeep Posted July 14, 2009 Report Posted July 14, 2009 Looks frickin amazing Z.....can't wait for mine to get the same top to toe treatment!! ATB FGD
MADRED7 Posted July 15, 2009 Report Posted July 15, 2009 WOW...the outcome is great....the PVD color is the correct one for an unused 1994 Panerai....amazing 1 thing as a suggestion...the hands are a bit too white....you need to rework them fr an off-white (just get rid of the brightness)....just my 0.02$ Cheers mate, Theo
rmcsherry Posted July 15, 2009 Report Posted July 15, 2009 I'll upload some more photos later - the work is perfect; couldn't be happier - thanks R and FGD!
tanya Posted July 16, 2009 Report Posted July 16, 2009 Once again a real stunner!!!! Can't wait to build with my upcoming Genius FGD dials
