miziq Posted July 15, 2009 Report Posted July 15, 2009 Hi, It is hard decision betwen HB BB king and this one, but as i read both are very close to original with almost everything. Would HB BB king draw that much more attention? How is the quality with both of these? Which one is closer to original? I know BB is quite huge but have something special in it's simplicity. Ingy on the other hands feels like casual but incorporate timeless design. Please help! Thanks!
JohnG Posted July 15, 2009 Report Posted July 15, 2009 For all around watch, Ingy without doubt. You can wear it as dress or casual - BB would look ridiculous with a suit (some wil argue this point but they are wrong, only a dork wears a BB with a suit to a wedding or a business meeting, funeral, elegant dinner party, etc...). Nothing against BB but the Ingy ALWAYS looks good, the BB only with certain clothes, situations...
its_urabus Posted July 15, 2009 Report Posted July 15, 2009 I agree with John, I have worn my inge to everything from a black tie wedding at a castle to the bleacher seats at Fenway. it just seems to work with everything. good luck with your decision.
bwhitesox Posted July 15, 2009 Report Posted July 15, 2009 This would be the first time I have agreed with John but he is correct...The Ingy wins hands down.
nikki6 Posted July 15, 2009 Report Posted July 15, 2009 This would be the first time I have agreed with John but he is correct...The Ingy wins hands down. Oh that stung coming out didn't it Sox?!? lol. I feel the same way when I'm forced to agree with Dave123 (thankfully only happened once, but man it stung!!) and even more so with Fakey, that really sticks in my craw when I have to agree with him!! As to the matter at hand, the HBB king is a bit of a silly watch to be honest the smaller Big Bangs are far more everyday. Have to agree with the majority though, the Ingy wins hands down every time! Sixx
jitai Posted July 15, 2009 Report Posted July 15, 2009 Ingy (Ti or SS) is my choice. Like the Ti Ingy especially. Looks sporty and classy, light weight and wear comfortable. HBB king is too bling and more like a vegas watch to me.
trailboss Posted July 15, 2009 Report Posted July 15, 2009 Gee IU, I thought your pick would be a gen GMTII , regardless of it's non inclusion in this choice Ya, Ingy all da way! Col.
Watchmeister Posted July 15, 2009 Report Posted July 15, 2009 Ingy is certainly the more versatile watch But as others have said they are night and day. The Big Bang King is obviously huge (and by the way weighs a ton). Also the Ingy is an old school $3k'ish watch and the King is a $15-20k new watch. Only you know which one looks more appropriate for you. I am willing to bet you would be happiest with a 42-44mm watch anyhow. I wear 44mm and 47 mm PAM's on a daily basis and the king wears even bigger. So unless you have been running around wearing a Super Avenger I would guess you will be disappointed.
miziq Posted July 15, 2009 Author Report Posted July 15, 2009 THanks guys. Can you post some of the pictures of your ingy's . I like the SS version. Is the one offered these days from eurotimes and ptswiss any updated version? I seen in the older reviews that most of you updated AR, but those on sale include double AR on sapphire. BB king is really huge i know . It seems that Ingy also pass more quietly than BB. Is the "normal" BB still to blingy vs Ingy (that rime nicely;) )?
jitai Posted July 15, 2009 Report Posted July 15, 2009 (edited) Here you go. SS INGY... I think this thread should be moved to IWC section so that more INGY fan can chime in IWC has stopped the production for the SS INGY and Ti INGY to make way for new INGY. So, these are really nice collectibles Edited July 15, 2009 by jitai
Watchmeister Posted July 15, 2009 Report Posted July 15, 2009 Here is mine: By the way mine has not seen the light of day for a couple of years now so if you are looking for one in ETA with Ziggy Relume, proper date wheel and light AR (I think) shoot me a PM. Frankly you can have my BB real cheap too. That one has never been worn. Is it possible I have too many watches?
its_urabus Posted July 15, 2009 Report Posted July 15, 2009 @kruzer, you are crazy to let that one go, it is 99.9% perfect. other than hand length, which is a debatable point, its spot on. and with lello's datewheels unavailable or unusuable due to shoddy printing, you could never rebuild it. Just my 2cents.
Watchmeister Posted July 15, 2009 Report Posted July 15, 2009 With the raft of new interesting reps and recent gens and frankens the Ingy will never see the light of day on my end. As it is I have a pair of GST's and the 2006 Cousteau (with the one and only RepAustria's wood caseback) and they all have proper datewheels, Swiss 7750's and Ziggy lume. And they never get worn. When I get my act together (read as learn how to use the new camera) I will sell of some of them. Back to the topic at hand, I think you are nuts to buy a BB King as a daily wearer unless you have 8 inch wrists. I also find that rep to not look credible to folks who know what it is and to look cheap to those who don't. My 2 cents.
its_urabus Posted July 15, 2009 Report Posted July 15, 2009 @iceberg, I am sure the lume looks fine on the wrist. the image is 3x as big as the watch. here is mine, lume is also from zig, and looks perfect on the wrist:
Guest Posted July 15, 2009 Report Posted July 15, 2009 I really dont know what you guys see in the Ingy...Never seen one in person myself, so I cant IHMO.....At little too plain jane.... Daily wear however my vote for be NOT the BB
FxrAndy Posted July 15, 2009 Report Posted July 15, 2009 The OP had pmed me this question today and i answered it the same way as every one here, INGY all the way, I am glad it has sooo many friends!
