gplracer
What is the proper procedure for putting a gen crystal on a DW 6263?
kbh
Pop the bezel off with a razor blade and the crystal will probably come off with it. Just replace it and press the bezel back in place. It's a press fit between the case and the crystal. I suppose you should glue the new crystal in if you are expecting to make it waterproof. gplracer
Do most of you use crystal cememt or just a friction fit?
ubiquitous
No need for cement; just go with friction fit on the bezel. Should provide enough tension to seal it just fine. Just to note- If you have the steel 6265 bezel, you can press it on with a fairly snug fit on the crystal. If you have the acrylic 6263, you'll want to trim the bezel slightly; you want enough pressure to provide a seal, but if you have to use an excessive amount of force to press it on you risk damage to the bezel as it is prone to warping/bending.
