2 Vintage frankens...

Thought I'd share some pics of my friend's projects that are nearing completion. I visited the watchmaker this morning to take some final pics of all of the parts prior to assembly this coming week. Movements have been serviced, an improperly seated jeweled bearing replaced, new stem sourced and a cannon pin fabricated to accommodate a thicker dial.

Also including pics of some tasty morsels that were shown to us. Check out the vintage cabinet with a dozen draws containing just about every imaginable size of pocket watch crystals, both plex and glass.

Also several boxes of mechanical clocks pulled from instrument panels (mostly WWII era). 8-day fully serviced movements in both radium and tritium dials (you can see a tritium version in the lower RH corner). The movements are awesome... he sells the complete clocks, so I immediately put one on hold for a desk clock to be housed in clear lucite.

Finally, pics of a beautiful gold watch he had just finished restoring.

It was a great morning for this vintage watch lover along for the ride!
