Francisco Posted July 28, 2009 Report Posted July 28, 2009 The back cover of IWC Cousteau 2006 model has a piece of wood from the Calypso ship. In the rep, the factory has employed a sticker of no very good quality simulating wood. After watching a gen, the difference is quite noticeable. It is not easy to find good pictures of the back of the 2006 Cousteau watch. I have found the following two pictures. One of them seems to be a picture of a prototype
ubiquitous Posted July 29, 2009 Report Posted July 29, 2009 Well done! A much needed upgrade for this model... Great work as usual...
docblackrock Posted July 29, 2009 Report Posted July 29, 2009 Fantastic work Francisco as usual. Any chance, as with the OP decals, you may be open to a little sideline business on this particular mod? Mucho gracias
donpedro Posted July 29, 2009 Report Posted July 29, 2009 Awesome work Fransisco, will definately try this out on my CD! Thanks for yet another excellent tutorial!
docblackrock Posted August 4, 2009 Report Posted August 4, 2009 F, assume you got the wood veneer roll from Gregorio Garcia? What 'type' or reference is it?
Watchmeister Posted August 4, 2009 Report Posted August 4, 2009 Great tutorial. It is a huge improvement and not difficult to do. Here is another one done by RepAustria back in the day a couple of years ago.
trailboss Posted August 4, 2009 Report Posted August 4, 2009 Nice work! What an improvment. Just for the reference here is another wood insert. This one from Magrette in NZ. Prototype again, 001. Col.
chubbchubb Posted August 4, 2009 Report Posted August 4, 2009 @Kruz... I still remember Olli's watch.... now we know how it was done... @Francisco... another beautiful mod. Thank you very much for your time and efforts...
