redwatch Posted August 6, 2009 Report Posted August 6, 2009 Got a nice shipment in today. The fourth edition of The Watch Repairer's Manual by Henry B. Fried. Saw this in a posting from Ziggy and just had to have it! So far it is extremely well done. Great photo blow-ups of the movements and very easy to read. Thanks Ziggy for posting those pics and turning me onto this book!
kronos twin Posted August 6, 2009 Report Posted August 6, 2009 this is excellent, Redwatch. I just posted a desire to compile a decent bibliography for watch collectors and repair geeks. I would definitely add this to the mix. Thanks for sharing the pics!
RWG Technical Posted August 6, 2009 Report Posted August 6, 2009 It is one of the standard references for watchmakers. Mr Fried did many - if not all - of the line drawings in the book, extremely talented individual. Glad you like it, enjoy.
dluddy Posted August 6, 2009 Report Posted August 6, 2009 Thanks for sharing. Looks like a must have for the watch repairer
mikerblade Posted August 7, 2009 Report Posted August 7, 2009 For anyone interested in grabbing a cheap copy there's a softbound reprint on ebay that ends this Sunday (Item number 180393203413) I grabbed my copy for under $15 from the same seller, its not as nice as the old hardback copy but the information will be the same
