HBB Ice Bang Full ceramic bezel 'issues'

Hi guys

Am about to pull the trigger on a HBB. Either Ice Bang full ceramic or Tempus full ceramic.

before I do though I have a serious concern about the life of the PVD bezel on the ice bang. Every watch I have has a mark or scratch at some point on the bezel. How does the PVD coating hold up to this. Is it durable or is it better to avoid and stick with steel or ceramic?

Anyone have an Ice bang and experience of this?

Thanks chaps

Okay.... lets put it another way...

How does PVD generally hold up? I do not have a pdv watch, never have. Can it handle the odd scratch here and there? Presumably there is steel underneath that will eventually show through right?

Anyone????

Saw the PM. Replied....

Regarding the ceramic bezel.... does that not then take the watch into the world of fantasy reps and away from being a rep of the original. I understand that the color of the PVD bezel is pretty close to the gen. What about the titanium bezels on the market? Are they close? Anyone know?

I like the idea of ceramic too but Hublot don't make an ice bang like that or do they?

Hi, as far as I know the bezel of the full ceramic Ice Bang is made of either pvd with a coating or made of titanium. It got great looks, but both are very easy to scratch. with the pvd and coating you will see the underneath color below the coating. if that is a different color (which is) than the coating, then it looks ugly. with titanium the color of a scratch will be the same, but ti is scratches easily.

If you buy the watch for many years of pleasure, better look for a model with ceramic bezel imo.

Hublot made a limited edition "Black Ice" bang that has a brushed ceramic bezel instead of tantalum, with only 30 pieces made for the Japanese market. So you wouldn't have a fantasy watch if you got a ceramic bezel instead of the PVD. A pic of the gen Black Ice:
