This issue has been well discussed, and someone did actually made the top plate mod and sold the watch at a very high price.

The job is not simple and it will involve a lot of machining and engravings plus additional parts. If you can do it is a big business from all the fellow memebers here owning the RBII.

Not sure if this helps, but here is a dial side view of the DD module AP uses on the 2226 in all it's glory:

Granted, it doesn't have the plate over the top that the RBII does... But maybe it will help answer some questions? I've circled some of the details that I thought you'd be interested in on the pic...

Is anyone offering this mod yet? This is by far my favorite watch in the box. I don't have the talent to mod but I would be willing to pay for it in a heartbeat!

Yup, it would be 1000% better... however I still wear it more than any of my other watches right now...

I just got my custom AP Bands CF strap.... Pretty sick!

I dont think applying Cotes-De-Geneve isnt that hard if you take some time to make a decent, stable rig for it... then experiment with abrasive size and so on :p

But damn this watch is really starting to grow on me
