debbiesmith1
Hi all, I bought an Omega UPO (not the orange version). After a while the Pearl fell out. I asked the vendor to send me a spare pearl that I could glue on. They kindly sent me something but it wasn't exactly what I was looking for. What they send me was the bit that the pearl is stuck to I don't know the proper name (the bezel?) anyway its the bit with the numbers on it 20, 30 , 40 , 50. So I have a metal disk. I have a choice I can either try to pop the pearl out - it seems to be well stuck on. I could try to cut it out as well. or I can try and replace the "bezel top" What would people recommend. How do I remove the "bezel top" from the watch without damaging everything and how do I put on the new "Bezel top". Is it superglued or does it clip in. I afraid of making a complete hash of it. The picture isn't my watch, its just to show which watch I am talking about. Any advice would be appreciated. Kind Regards Debbie
FxrAndy
You would be better lifting the whole bezel insert out and putting the new one in, try to get a thin but stiff peice of platsic between the bezel and crystal and work it round untill the insert comes out then glue the new on in, I remember that pugwash did a tutorial in this when the UPO first came out

debbiesmith1
Thanks guys for your help. I've looked at the tutorial. That pretty scary to me. There are more parts than I expected. I am afraid of not being able to put it all back together. One thing I noted. I have been sent a "Bezel Insert" if thats the correct term that has a pearl attached. The one in the tutorial the pearl seems to be stuck to the watch and the Bezel insert fits over it. Would you still follow the same strategy. Is it possible to get the Bezel Insert out without taking the Bezel off (I don't like the look of all the bits that come with taking it out - I might have trouble putting them back together). A second question is what type of glue can be used. I was going to use run of the mill superglue. There seems to be a strange type of glue used in the tutorial that is unknown to me. If I cut the Pearl from the Bezel Insert and superglue it to the hole I have in my current bezel insert what are the chances it will stay stuck? Kind Regards Debbie.
