tr4driver
Hello everyone... I've recently come across an early 70's 1675 GMT that has silver colored lettering. It is a matte dial, and the watch looks genuine other than the lettering. Anyone know of any replicas out there that actually have silver lettering? alligoat
I've seen silver lettering on some cheaper reps. I wasn't aware of Rolex using silver lettering on their gen dials though.

Ditto, gilt but never seen silver. Do you have a photo?

alligoat
That dial has either been relumed, or the lume is bubbling up. Minute hand looks too fat. Are you sure that's a gen???

I'm beginning to seriously question the authenticity of the dial and hands, but the case seems genuine.
alligoat
The big problem on rep 1675 dials has always been that they say "Oyster Perpetual Date", not "Oyster Perpetual". This dial is at least correct in saying "Oyster Perpetual". But print quality sucks, fonts look strange, certainly not up to Rolex's quality standards, IMO. tmg
Here's a photo. Redial for sure. Any more pix of the case, mvmt etc? I have a gen 1675 dial I'm planning on selling that you could always replace it with if it all checks out.
tr4driver
Here are some additional photos. I've not opened up the case back and looked at the movement, but I can tell you that it does not have the quick-set date feature and is a hacking movement (which is consistent with the 1575 movement that should be in the watch I believe). The jubilee bracelet it stamped "502 B" on the end pieces.
tmg
Case, bezel, and bracelet look gen from these pix, but it would be good to see the case stampings and mvmt. Again the dial may be gen but for sure it was redone at some point. A none molested dial swap and old tritium hands or having the existing ones relumed in a vintage tone will have it looking quite nice. It appears you've already purchased it??? PM me if you're interested in a a gen 1675 dial I've had in the parts box for years -I'll let it go cheap.
chubbchubb
bars at six and nine show that the dial has been relumed.
JoJo35
FAKE Something so obviously wrong is enough to make a reasonable person question everything else about the watch. Stay Away!
