P4GTR Posted September 15, 2009 Report Posted September 15, 2009 I like the darker grey dial and I really like the $60 price deficit(cost and shipping) So what am I giving up getting the less expensive version? $228 shipped http://www.jpc8118.com/blev10032-chronomat-grey-a7750-28800-free-shippin-p-7280.html $258 plus shipping http://www.jpc8118.com/bl10076-chronomat-evolution-ssss-grey-a7750-28800-p-6661.html
AllergyDoc Posted September 15, 2009 Report Posted September 15, 2009 The cheaper one is the older one. It's got the skinny date font and it's missing the extra tick mark by the 10 on the minute counter at 12:00. The newer and more expensive one has the correct wider date font and, of course, has the tick mark. There might be some other differences I'm not aware of. My old EVO was a V2: it had the tick mark but had the skinner date font.
andreww Posted September 15, 2009 Report Posted September 15, 2009 The two major things to look at are the pearl and the date font. They are both much better on the expensive version. That said, I like how the rider tabs seem to fit a little better in to the bezel on the cheaper version. The gaps seem a little wide on the pricier one. Still, the font and pearl are major tells, so I'd go with the expensive one.
P4GTR Posted September 15, 2009 Author Report Posted September 15, 2009 The tick mark doesn't bother me, it looks clustered in there. I wish the pearl didn't bother me, but it does..
Rick001 Posted September 15, 2009 Report Posted September 15, 2009 Wow! Didn't know that a diamond bezel could look this good (on a male wrist). Rick
