freddy333
I want to download a copy of the luxury watch video on this page (.flv format) But none of my usual packet sniffers or flash downloaders are able to get anything but the short, pre-video downloading animation. I have tried both current versions of IE & Firefox & searched both browsers' caches, but I am unable to locate anything that is either large enough or in a video format. Searching the source of the page, I found the actual url to the video (rtmp://8irf9d17b9.rtmphost.com/luxurychannel/timeMachines.flv), but I do not know how to access this type of link. Anyone? chubbchubb
Try this... http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/web_video_capture.html or this: http://krut.sourceforge.net/
freddy333
chubbchubb - Thanks for the links. Unfortunately, Web Video Capture says 'Be aware that WebVideoCap cannot capture streams of RTMP protocol.', which is exactly the type of stream I am trying to download. I am trying the other 1 now. Ronin
I tried grabbing it with Orbit/Grab++. The problem is they seem to be doing back end authentication to the rtmp server. So when their server/host sees me/us trying to grab it from not-their domain, it fails. I am swamped at work at the moment, but if I can spoof the authentication we may be in luck. The other option if I get time is I have a screen recorder on my Mac that I might be able to simply re-record it to a H.264 or other Quicktime format. freddy333
Got it with Replay Media, which worked like a charm. Unfortunately, neither of the other utilities did any better than my old packet sniffer, but thanks to all for your help & input. By the way, this video ought to be required viewing for every single member of this board. If you have not seen it, do.
