vlydog
I have been knocking around the idea of purchasing a bezel assembly for my modern sub. I have found several for sale so far but I want to make sure that what I am buying is complete so that I am not scurrying about at the last minute finding the allusive part. Is this correct? Bezel Insert Bezel Retaining bezel ring Bezel flat friction washer Bezel click spring Thank you.
alligoat
Sounds good to me. There is also a rubber gasket the goes under the retaining ring- my notes say PN 29-325-10, it's the same as the gasket for the caseback. http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?act=attach&type=post&id=26937 This was an old diagram of the Sub parts- don't know if it'll work or not. Edit: well it didn't work

Thanks alligoat, Your link just puts me back to the Forums page. I do appreciate you efforts and contribution. I guess another question I would have is: If I were to change the bezel on my WM9 sub, what parts from the watch would still be compatible with the gen bezel assembly? or How many of the gen parts would be needed? ubiquitous
If you are going the route of a gen bezel ring/insert/washer, you'll need the gen crystal ring as well. The gen bezel won't fit the WM9 crystal ring without modification.
vlydog
Thanks Ubi, I can be really thick headed at times so for me... If I had a gen bezel, insert and crystal ring I would be good to go? using the remaining WM9 parts?
ubiquitous
You have a gen crystal, if I recall correct? If so, you should be fine. Assembly structure would look like: case -> crystal gasket -> crystal -> crystal ring gasket -> crystal ring -> bezel washer -> bezel click -> bezel ring -> insert Just make sure you're crystal gasket is an H2. alligoat
That's tough to answer. Maybe the bezel, the flat washer and the click spring would do it. http://cgi.ebay.com/Genuine-Rolex-Submariner-Bezel-16610_W0QQitemZ330361488303QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item4ceb1443af&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14 Maybe you'd have to get the retaining ring also. Highoey was also looking for similar parts- wondering about buying from wholesaleoutlet990/watchbandman50, but that's always a gamble. http://cgi.ebay.com/BEZEL-INSERT-RETAINING-RING-FOR-SUBMARINER-BLACK_W0QQitemZ310151657930QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item48367ab9ca&_trksid=p4634.c0.m14.l1262 I guess you could always send the parts back if they didn't work...., but as Freddy says, the guys a weasel. ubiquitous
If I had a gen bezel, insert and crystal ring I would be good to go? If you had those parts (gen), you'd really only need the washer and the click. You could probably use the WM9 parts for both of those, though with luck, they should come with either the crystal ring or the bezel ring anyways. alligoat
Well, I can see that Ubi's answer was kinda like what I figured might be the case. When you're dealing with WM9 and Euromariners, if you're going to swap out some bezel parts, you pretty much have to go the whole route. Mixing and matching probably won't work. vlydog
It looks like a gen crystal ring might be a hard item to find.
alligoat
According to my diagram, it's #319, maybe 319-16800-01 if I were to guess at a part #. I bought one on ebay 6 months ago for my gen 16800 for around $70, as I recall.
