highoeyazmuhudee
Hi guys, as some of you may know i've been trying to source a retaining ring for my submariner 16610 as humidity leaks in. Tracking one down that is of quality seems almost a lost cause by now. Next option: seal up the existing one at the rim where the crystal gasket and metal meet. Tried it once with hypo cement, and the GS cement seems to peel and remain kind of tacky. I have little confidence in this for my specific application. Next option...thread locker by loctite. is there ANY reason i should NOT do this on the exterior of the crystal and gasket and metal ring? will loctite seal something against humidty, heat, cold and water to depths of 30m? will it melt the plactic gasket? work its way under things and warp them or corrode anything? thanks guys. I'm either gonna use the red kind or the blue kind. any preference or alternatives to what im proposing or caveats?
alligoat
Contact cement would be another option. It is water resistant. What about contacting BK and seeing if he would sell you a WM9 retaining ring.
