pdnb
on the 88, 89 or any seconds at 9, do the gens use an eta 7750 or different movement all together? Another way of asking my question is, could you put an eta 7750 into a rep GMT with seconds at 9, and would that make sense to increase reliability? Thanks
Drulee
I think the movement is the 7754. You may have to do some modifications to the inside of the case in order for the movement to fit. The rep dials may not fit properly, And the hands will not fit without being modded. Most of the above apply to the non-GMT reps, and the ETA 7750. But I believe it will fit right into the cartel auto cases. You will have to get the two unused chrono posts removed, and the centre chrono seconds post. Same problem with the hands though. Of course you will need the proper date wheel, preferably a custom one with thicker font.

Jimster
no swap possible. no modification possible. you have to keep the asia movt . rolli Why won't the 7754 fit? Jim
rolli
you have to use the distance ring and upper plate which is on top of the asia 7750b1. because the inner measurement of the gmt case is too deep. all gen swiss 7750 and following valjoux movts, also the 7754 have H1 hand-gear-length. but with the asia distance ring you need minimum H5 length. eta build valjoux movts only with H1 length. with H1 length you cannot put the hands on the hand-gears. and you cannot use the asia hand-gears in the swiss 7754. and by the way this makes no sense. forget all mods with rep gmt pams. rolli Why won't the 7754 fit? pdnb
i don't understand your question, please more detailed and precise. rolli Sorry Rolli- I meant to ask for the rep GMTs that have central seconds (29, 63), is it possible to replace with an ETA movement for those? But maybe the only REPS of the 29, 63 already have the ETA movement which would make my question non-sensical?
ubiquitous
The 029 and 063 use a completely different movement altogether; ETA 2893 in those... Some of the earlier (and best) reps come with that movement already fitted, whereas some use a 2836-2 modified with a 24 hour wheel.
