Is this case usable for pre-V project?

Hi gang! I've got some parts for what i think will be a 201A project: FGD dial, older Helenarou? case (see pics below), 201A caseback. Is this case a good place to start? TIA.

I would have to say YES! Get a T-48 and an LH CG... Have the dial lumed by The Zigmeister and a nice Swiss from Otto and your all good. I just did the same and it never leaves my wrist!

That case back looks very good for sure , dimple still there though.

Lugs nice a short but will need to be drilled on the none CG side.

For some nice pre V screws and that's quite hard to do. I'm sure most CGs will fit LH, V or DSN. A brushed DSN might be a cheaper option or a Nembo.

Nice little project you've got yourself there.

Question is , if that's a HenRo case does the Caseback fit ?, the one she/he sent me didn't fit standard casebacks

mil, that case looks similar to one I had and if it is the same, I hate to break it you to but I don't think it's a good case. It's not the "old school" helenarou version that was accurate for a Pre-V. This case is more of a mashup and not particularly accurate to any generation. Here's the post I made about the case I had.

http://www.rwgforum.com/topic/101399-case-id/

The lugs and flat bezel looked okay, but some of the faults I found were:

- Odd overall case size (slightly larger than a standard case, crystal looked larger as well)

- Caseback was too large (would not accept any caseback I had, hole was too large)

- CG screw holes too small (would not accept standard size CG screws, only the tiny ones that came with the case)

Check your case to see if it has the same issues. I hope not and hope you have a good case and mine just sucked.

confirmed. my 201A case back does not really fit. looks like it is a correct diameter from what i can tell but the thread size is different. it catches threads just a little but does not screw in all the way. so avitt, me and you - we all have the same case. lol.
