Best Place to Get a Black IWC Portuguese?

I'm planning on getting a IWC Portuguese (in Black or Deep Blue) but I'm not seeing any good vendor suggestions on these forums. Could anyone throw out some recommendations?

Pretty much all the dealers can get the same pieces so it's simply a case of choosing the dealer you like the feedback of the most, then seeing what they can do.

If it's the seconds at 6 model...be careful of the movement. There is some info on doing a DLC mod on the transfer bridge to reduce friction, combined with the graphite lube mod that might increase longevity...but who knows for sure.

If it's the other Porto's...the movement seems fine...any dealer will be able to supply either way.

damn, really?

I wanted the second dial at 6 model too :(

I'm a watch newb and have no idea what you just said about modding... I suppose it isn't cheap for someone else to do it either?

No, Toad is right.

This movement is very problematic - to a point that I think it should not be sold by reputable dealers!!

If you absolutely want it, look up what has been written about it here. And be prepared to spend additional money (lots...).

Zig did a review in his subsection on the forum...read it...it explains everything about this movement. The expensive route, but a truly fantastic result is to get a Concepta gen movement, dial and hands and then machine down the case to accomodate the thinner gen movement. It works out to a essentially a gen visually, and mechanically at about 50% the cost.
