bigc7361 Posted December 26, 2009 Report Posted December 26, 2009 sorry guys, Im sure you get asked this all the time, but I hav about $250 to buy my first rep, and would like a Breitling, but am finding it a bit daunting working out where to buy it from, who to trust etc. I have found a site through here called Watcheden.com that seems to sell for about $110, which seems to cheap. Can anyone please recommend a dealer - I live in Australia, so perhaps an American or Asian site might be easier rather than a European, but I am open to suggestions. Thanks everyone, and again sorry to have to ask :-)) Thanks
altralazer Posted December 26, 2009 Report Posted December 26, 2009 The $108 Breitlings from your stated website come with a Quartz movement, not an automatic. Hence the price. Depending on what you're looking for, that might just not be it.
lanikai Posted December 26, 2009 Report Posted December 26, 2009 The super ocean Steelfish is around your price range.. there are 3 different colour dials Here The SOSF are very, very good replications of the genuine It is made in a "lite" version for about 100 usd less, the lite has no ar and a rather flimsy Asian movement. Here the 2 not really noticeable, but for longevity the eta movement for sure. the difference can be seen in the lack of AR The eta version with AR coating Pics of the eta AR coated dials If you save a little more you can get in the range for the Skyland Blacksteel a super rep, the DLC (diamond like coat) is like the genuine The Super Avenger BS has just been released.. you may want to wait for the reviews since it is a new release.. hope that helps some.. imo I would stay with the eta versions if you can.. asmo Posted December 26, 2009 Report Posted December 26, 2009 This is pretty much in your price range - "Ultimate" Skyland Avenger Chrono but if you can stretch the budget out to $350 then you will get something even nicer like this - Skyland Avenger PVD Limited Ed "ULTIMATE"
asf Posted December 26, 2009 Report Posted December 26, 2009 is the black steel in that pic been relumed or is that just really really good lume dots?

maxman Posted December 26, 2009 Report Posted December 26, 2009 I usally get chronos, so I would also look at the Skyland Avenger V2. It's around 45mm and 18mm thick, a very chunky watch But since this Is your first rep the Super Ocean Is probably the better choice. Mike
unit17 Posted December 26, 2009 Report Posted December 26, 2009 An ETA SuperOcean would be a fantastic 1st rep IMO. Just need to pick a dial colour, plus there are many strap options with this watch that give a wide variety and choice, and will keep you interested in the piece more. GL with what you decide.
Bike Mike Posted December 26, 2009 Report Posted December 26, 2009 Superocean is the way to go. +1! Can not go wrong with a SOSF.
collector26 Posted December 26, 2009 Report Posted December 26, 2009 (edited) SOSF is a great choice but if you are looking for a chrono than you could also consider the BCE. Its just about the best OOTB reps you can find. Edited December 26, 2009 by collector26
bigc7361 Posted December 27, 2009 Author Report Posted December 27, 2009 Thanks everyone, this has been a massive help and I wasnt expecting such a great response, I think I am going to go for a Super Ocean Steel Fish, I will let you know how I get on - and thanks again everyone!
