this looks pretty nice M.

P.S. FF in backround???

Hey, S.

Happy new year!

Its a Tornek Rayville in the back... a must!!!

I have seen several gen fifty fathoms and must confess imho being not an accurate rep it is much more nice than the ones i saw.

Case design is superb and also the bezel.

Sorry i still have your bag of plexis. will ship tomorrow or friday. Need leather?

M.

good to see you back. love the buckle thumbsupsmileyanim.gif

Thank you! Its good to be back.

Thank you also about the compliment.

I had accessed a lot of old stock stuff like the leather for instance.

I bought lots of those buckles also.

The strap is easy to do and took me about an hour to cut and assemble.

Its a quick process and i am thinking of producing "build it yourself" kits with dimensioned vintage (and i mean vintage from a 40's italian lot) leather stripes, assembly instructions and buckle if there is general interest over it.

maybe its a wild idea but i can assure this is one of the best straps i have:)

It's nice to see you here with new topic :)

You do a good find with the leather as it is hard to find correct one.

And after what will be your next project ?

Hi G.!

I have a project running late! two 6152 with angelus mvmt for two friends here.

Next personal will be a 2533 but i will have to ask for your help on sharpening a case and soldering lugs.:)

I can engrave plexi (you asked if it was possible). I have posted a pic of my 6152 with a cal. 618 and you can see the back plexi engraved.

As for the leather... its beautiful and soft! Italian from Firenze and from a 40

looks excellent! Planning on selling straps? :)

I have enough leather and buckles for that.

I can produce "build it yourself" kits if there is general interest over it.

Since i have few time to dedicate to watches (unfoirtunately) I will be able to prepare 20 sets in a afternoon during february so if the interested parts organize and do a checklist i can do it.

The leather is amazing and the process is so simple that i will not have to buy a leather strap again. I will do all mine!:)

Best regards,

M.

minimum 15 entries and i take a day off during february to stripe the leather and prepare the kits.

please let me know and thank you for your interest and nice compliments.

I'd love some vintage leather. I have access to an industrial sewing machine for stitching too, so it would be a fun project.

I am not into fun. I am more for accuracy.

Original straps were hand sewn.

But some of them were not so i believe that with a correct linen thread the result of an industrial sewing could be nice but the fun is all yours because you are going to sew it!

I cant handle needles :) so we can join accuracy with fun,

M.
