Just seen that Ken has posted a bulk buy deal for some of the most popular models - 2x PAM's for $455 which includes shipping and an RWG disount, or 5 x PAM's for $875 inc shipping and the discount. Not bad and he takes paypal. See his post in the dealers section.

to those who live in custom-tricky countries I wouldnt risk ordering from them, simply because I doubt they have as much experience with overseas shipping as Paul, River, Andrew, Josh and the others have! And they are still not cheaper than river but offer the same product.

Yes, but US customs are not that strict. In fact they are among the laziest!

I doubt they ship very many packages overseas, if they would, we would know them. Honpo has been a shop for the japanese market only in the past,. and Ken took them international, Yes, but I doubt he's got as much experience with customs and such like Paul has. Paul is a high volume seller, he ships out dozens of packages every day, overseas, and has been doing so for the past few years.

I wouldnt wanna take the risk of confiscation with a dealer I dont really know. God knows if they replace a defective watch or resend if it gets caugt by customs. And you dont even get any advantage over buying from River, Paul, Josh, Andrew, Eddie or Jay&Angel. In fact I see only disadvantages with those models, because they are more expensive.

If they would offer a product, others dont have (the 187 in the past was maybe worth the risk, but besides that watch there is no other "exclusive" watch), I would give it a shot, but I dont see the need taking a risk with an unknown dealer if he has the same product our trusted dealers have, for more money.

Just my humble opinion, of course everyone can order from wherever he prefers.

He does have models the other dealers don't have. Take a look at the Japanese web site...

I highly doubt Ken can compare with Paul or Josh in terms of overseas shipping. Simple as that. He might have sent a few watches overseas, but I doubt he has as much knwoledge about european customs as Paul or others have. And we dont have much experience with him. Or please enlighten me and redirect me to the dozens and dozens of positive reviews about him over here!

And none, please tell me, which models other dealers DONT have.

I am just getting into Pam... (I am a Rolex guy) and there are so many that I don't know where to aim at... However I see that the often discussed canyonpin gap is not with his watches and that the often discussed swiss made is not so close to the 6 as the most. This is good isn't it. I really don't know on what basis I have to choice a Pam... Are Honpos the better ones....

I'm convinced that US Customs issues are mostly (entirely?) dependent on the port of entry. Here on the left coast it sure seems to me that they (San Francisco) will allow any and all contraband through.

Maybe that's because in SF there are a LOT of Asians... who get packages from China and other countries on a regular basis?

Unless you have had a specific bad experience with Ken and Honpo your opinion is simply conjecture. (I am sure people have). I have never had him ship into the UK or EU but have shipped thousands of dollars of goods both personally and thru group buys (of watches that didn't exist anywhere else at that time) into the U.S. with no problems. IMHO, Honpo/Ken is a trusted dealer. 90% of what he sells others have. But 10% are available only through him or only several months later after Honpo has sold its original order. Honpo are quite often the ones who commision the better PAM reps and as a result are often the only ones who have them. I owned my 2893's for close to 6 months before anyone other than a few brave souls who took the same risks did. I paid a modest premium at the time. On the 187 I owned for 2-3 months before anyone else was offering them. It turns out I paid way too much but that was my choice and live and learn. If you look now they are selling the same 187 as everyone else at roughtly the same price while preparing to offer the 7753 version at what I am sure will be a very large premium. I have begged other dealers to do the 7753 even offering to fund a significant portion. No go. In short, Ken/Honpo is a welcome dealer here and often the only reason that we see some of the better reps that we do. It is your choice whether to buy from him but if you haven't you don't have the right to an opinion.

I am very pleased to see that he is offering specials on non proprietary product. :)

I can't agree more... the package deal is not bad though... the watches are very good, some of them (2006 models) are already superlumed!!! Don't forget that!

Davidsen's watches are super lumed and have no recessed cannon pin problem.

besides the 187, all of honpos watches are the same watches our dealers have. they come from the same factory and have the same luminova on them, unless honpo himself relumed them.

there has yet to be a watch, honpo had and others dont have.

I dont need to buy from honpo to KNOW that he is specialised in the asian market. As a matter of fact, members from RWG were asking him, if he could ship to europe and he said no, I only deal with you if you have a japanese address.

Rumors were that honpo had a seller on iOffer who did NOT have good feedback. He is now gone. Noone knows if he really was a representative of honpo (at least he claimed that and offered honpos stock)

Ken does do the overseas part for honpo now, he's not been around very long, at least not in our community. And I dont know any other big online market for replica watch sellers besides our community. If there was another "secret" community Ken sold his watches to within all the years, some ppl here would know about it. He probably sold some on iOffer, too, but I dont know that.

I remember very well when members first stumbled upon watchonpo, thats was NOT too long ago! Back then, honpo had even cheaper prices than our dealers which was the main reason why members wanted to buy directly from him.

Then suddenly the webaddress changed and prices went up. They also started to go "international" thorugh Ken.

Thats the story. I'm not saying Ken is a ripper nor that he is bad or whatsoever. I'm simply saying, the product he offers, even with the discount, is MORE expensive than from our trusted dealers, who offer the same product.

And due to the fact, that Ken has not been around here very long and that honpo has NOT been international for a long time, it's quite obvious, that they simply CANT have the same experience shipping&custom wise as our dealers have.

I can only say...every dealer here started at the bottom & had to proof themself.

Look at PT...he's now a respected dealer.

You can stick with the settled dealers here on the board & play safe or give Ken a chance to proof himself.

Should I be disappointed in the quality of his reps I'll just place my next order with the more respected dealers here on the board.

For now I'm willing to give this guy a chance.

Hi Maikel,

I can't agree with you more... By the way, all these 2006 PAMs are superlumed with Swiss SL, which makes the package buy quite attractive :)

Slay has it right. Honpo was originally set up to serve the Japanese market which has a long history of paying up for high quality branded reps. All that changed when they were forced to move offshore (China). I had a number of dealings with Kenji who was the first seller of Watchonpo product internationally. As Slay said he started out great but ultimately appeared to get in over his head. Since Ken has become the designated person for Honpo it has become very reliable. I am also noticing as time moves on his pricing is getting more competitive on the non-proprietary product. I will be curious to see how long it takes for other dealers to get their hands on the new 076. On the 2893's there was 6 month lead time before other dealers had the product. On the 7750 187 it was 3-4 months. As previously mentioned the next one was inferior aesthetically but came with the better 7750 movement. I have always been grateful to the Honpo orgaization for pushing the boundaries of high end reps. I hope the trend continues. Our traditional dealers have moved toward trying to customize some product but as far as I know no one else is actually buying the gen and CNCing as many parts as they can. I assume this is the case on the 076. That case cover is pretty damn good. :)
