Hi Guys

Hopefully going to Vegas in a few months for Holiday with some mates

looking to play some poker whilst im out there, are there any good poker rooms in certain casinos which people recommend?

What sort of table limits are out there for cash games also?

Are there lots of ADs out in Vegas also, wouldnt mind having a look at some eye candy whilst im there...and if i get lucky enough buy a gen. :D

Also customs related question, say i did get very lucky in Vegas and won quite a lot of money say for example $20K

I wouldnt be able to just bring that cash back the UK would I? Would I have to set up an account In vegas to transfer to UK etc?

I know its a lot of questions but if anyones got any kinda tips for when in Vegas or even nice places which are quite good value for money also would be cool.

cheers

J

The Mirage and Bellagio poker rooms are the best IMO, and if you are looking for high limit games you will need to go there.

Entering or leaving the EU requires you to declare anything over 10,000 Euros (or the equiv. in another currency). The US also has reporting rules of anything over $5,000 at most casinos, but either way you would not be prevented from entering/leaving with more, you just have to declare it. I'm sure every hotel can arrange wire transfers back to your bank if you don't want to carry that much cash.

Rooms can be had at many hotels on the cheap now. If you are planning on playing a significant sum, I would call over here and ask for a casino host at either Bellagio, Wynn, or Venetian, and tell them what your plans are. They may comp you, and can set you up with a line, or accept a wire transfer ahead of your arrival. IMO those are the nicest hotels on the strip (I say this having not stayed at Aria, which just opened). You will probably get the best deal at the Venetian, and if you are playing a lot, they will comp you when you are there even if you don't call ahead. Also, if you aren't going for a while, go to their websites and sign up for their player rewards programs. They'll e-mail you with offers.

Plenty of places to watch shop in Vegas. The Forum Shoppes at Caesars Palace have a huge Tourneau store, plus Bvlgari, Cartier, Chopard, Roman Times, and another place that has AP's (the name of which escapes me now). Most hotels have at least one jewelry store in them that carry at least one or two brands ... my favorite is the large Rolex store at Wynn.

There is plenty to do in Vegas if you don't gamble. The Blue Man Group Show at the Venetian is great, as is the Cirque du Soleil show 'O' at Bellagio. Plenty of clubs to hang out at. I prefer Tao at the Venetian, any of the clubs over at the Palms (Ghostbar, Rain, Moon, Playboy Club), and Tryst at Wynn. There are too many good restaurants to name, but if you like Italian, go to Piero's. It's off the Strip, and 'old school' Vegas. If you need more specifics, PM me. I practically live there it seems ... :)

Well, if you are all in your early 20's then I will make a couple more suggestions for hotels.

Stay at either the Palms, or the Hard Rock. Both are filled with hot women ... :) Rehab at the Hard Rock Pool is truly something to behold. Both are just off the strip, but well worth it. Surprisingly, the Planet Hollywood casino was starting to attract some young hotties in the place the last time I was there, so that's another option. The clubs I mentioned are all still good, and you might want to add Pure at Caesars. You will definitely come away with a story or two if you have any game at all. Vegas is definitely a 'target rich environment'.

'After hours', check out Drai's at Bill's Gambling Hall and Casino (or the Barbary Coast Casino as it was originally known) for early morning cocktails, and then head over to the Peppermill, another 'old school' Vegas spot for breakfast (it was in the movie Swingers). For Happy Hour, I usually go over to the Paris Hotel and go to a place called Napoleons in the walkway between the Paris and Bally's. They have a little carving station there and will bring you mini sandwiches for free when you order drinks. Good cigar lounge there too, if you are into that sort of thing.

It's easy to live out 'The Hangover' in Vegas ... it can be an adventure ... which is why it's one of my favorite spots ... :D
