Thinking about getting another one

The funniest thing is, I never thought I'd ever like these watches. The piece I'm thinking about is a 1675. I'll need to find a bracelet for it since it only comes with a leather strap, but it's a vintage with a "chapter ring". The wierdest thing is, it has a brown dial. Sorry no pics, but does this sound ok?

JoJo,

The chapter ring or railroad track dial was prevalent through the first 1675's through the pointed CG models. The chocholate dial is not uncommon, It's a color change phenomon that affected Rolex dials. That sounds like a really nice watch. It would look great on a 62150H/555 Jubilee Bracelet or a 78360 Oyster.

I would suspect that this one is a real "keeper" if it's in nice condition.I have a 16750 and it's one of my all time favorite watches.

JoJo - if, by brown, you mean the original black paint has faded to brown, then that is a good thing. If the dial is just brown, then it may be an aftermarket part. Generally, fading occurs in blotches or degrees of fade. It does not generally leave a dial a solid brown color. Hard to be sure what to recommend without good, clear macros, but that is the guide I use.
