My mind is mush right now from all the reading still. I also wanted to say thank you to all that I have been talking to in emails and PMs to help educate me. :thumbsupsmileyanim:

I have two more questions;

1. Asian 7750 versus Swiss 2824-2, your thoughts on this but I am thinking the Swiss is better.

2. I had my wife's CC number stolen about two years ago and it took a bit to get that straightened out so I am very leery about buying international on the internet using a CC. What I need here is some confidence. This is the reason I like paypal, but maybe I should get a CC linked to my paypal. Your thoughts on purchasing using your CC.

Thanks again everyone, I REALLY appreciate all your help.

Nice to see that you're learning! :) In regards to your question

1.) The 7750 and 2824 are completely different movements.. the Asian 7750 is the movement that will come with ALL automatic chronograph watches (watches with stop watch function). There is no swiss alternative available through our dealers to this movement. If you're thinking of buying any chronograph watch, it will surely have this movement. It's not a bad movement if serviced and can provide years and years of service (IF SERVICED). The 2824 movement is very popular movement that is used in plain face watches with date function possibility as well. It's a great movement and is available in a Swiss ETA version as well as an Cloned Asian moevement. Most people will tell you that both versions are equally good since they are ALMOST indistinguishable partwise. The cheapest of all movements available is generally the Asian 21j movement and is a generic term for the DG2813 and dg4813 chinese movements. These are good movements although cheap. It's not advisable to service them since it's cheaper to buy a factory new movement and replace them since they only run between 10 and 25 bucks new.

2.) Most dealers accept paypal here. If you use paypal, there is no way that the dealer will EVER get access to your credit card information. whether you choose to link your paypal account to your bank account or credit card is your decision but no dealers will ever have acces. I use paypal with complete security and have never had a problem with them as far as fraud is concerned.

Hope that answers your questions! Keep em coming!

Okay, so I keep reading about service and I get that. Matter of fact, I was thinking of when I do purchase a watch is have it sent straight to have it serviced right off the bat. I found a watch I like but I have yet to find a dealer with PP. I have emailed two, both say they do not accept PP. I will continue to look and research more.

thanks again!

PP can generate single use only CC numbers to use at merchants who don't accept normal PayPal.

So you are in essence giving them PayPal's CC number, not yours AND it is only good for one use so it can never be stolen and abused.

Never use your own CC numbers on the Internet.

What have you found that you like Mike?! Anything exciting?

Put your CC onto PP, it's the easiest and safest way to deal with people on the net!!

If the dealer doesn't take PP, ask members or scour the sales posts and see if they have what you want.

A lot of members prefer to buy from other members as they know they we are all as anal as each other about our watches!

That way you take out the long wait, the issue of your watch arriving with problems and having to ship it back etc.

Just something to think about!!

Alright, I narrowed it down to a couple and then ran them all by the wife and she picked the same one I had picked, the Blackbird big date SS black Asia 7750. I would have preferred a blue dial face but the black does not look that bad.

In case you were wondering what the others were they are;

Chronomat Evolution V3 SS

Skyland Averger Chrono-blue V2 SS

Titanium Chrono Avenger UTC Black

I will just have to start with one and add to it! LOL

I will have to look into what Jkay said about the PP CC single issue cards, that would be perfect.
