andreww
Slitty, I felt that way throughout the whole tournament, that each Canadian player played their roles perfectly. Canada was very good at winning the small battles on the ice, meaning face-offs and battles on the boards. Defensively they were great, and even though Luongo coughed up a lot of rebounds, his defense quickly cleared them. Canada was very efficient at avoiding the penalty box while still playing an unbelievably physical game. I'm really proud of all of them, and would never be able to select an MVP. Could be any one of about 15 guys!

andreww
mvp of the tournament was clearly the u.s. goalie miller. and i'm canadian! Without doubt. Goaltending is the most important element in a tournament like this.
dluddy
Defense won that game - the US team made several mistakes, especially on the 2nd goal. Miller's butterfly goaltending approach failed him on Sid's goal - hit it high. If miller stood, might have stopped it. Hats off to Crosby as you have said - he is that good
By-Tor
Indeed... all Canada goals came from bad defensive play. USA lost Mike Komisarek and Paul Martin to injuries before the tournament. Two most important d-men of the team (plus Rafalski of course who was/is totally amazing).

By-Tor
Pronger played well in the final though. But yeah he's a bit slow and clumsy. Big European ice would have been a huge advantage for the US team. Guys like Kane could skate circles around Pronger there. Generally, big defensemen like him are a dying breed with the new offside rule. Game has become faster now that teams can't play with neutral zone trap anymore. Small dmen (who can skate) like Rafalski, Zidlicky and Kimmo Timonen are hot stuff now. In the 1990's they wouldn't have even make it to the NHL. Just a side note... Chris Chelios just signed with Atlanta Trashers (at the age of 48)!

There's still time for me to crack the lineup BT

Anguz
I'm quite sure I have some permanent heart scarring from the many mini-heart attacks I suffered during the game. Worked out well in the end
